Carson Palmer is the most OVERPAID QB in NFL history

But even with that in play, over time Palmer has come to strike me as one of those guys that has all the physical tools but may not have what it takes to be a leader and a winner.

Bingo. I've always thought & posted that he was missing something. Maybe not the something Bledsoe was missing (coachability and ability to improve for two), but something.

PM is costing his team 21 mill vs the cap this year. Yikes. Too much for one player. Then again, I don't believe in offense heavy built teams financially so in the context of offense heavy teams, I guess it's not completely out of spec???

JR is right though, Stafford is the biggest current travishamockery.

Cincy is fuging awful to begin with, and field one of the most consistently bad defenses in the NFL. For a guy who coordinated the 2000 ravens defense Lewis really doesn't know what the fug he is doing.

Basically the only star player they have is Palmer, and Chad Johnson.

Mike Vick was by far the most overrated and overpaid QB in the league over the past 10 years. Without a doubt.

I have said it many times, that Palmer is not nearly the Leader that he needs to be, especially on that team. However he can throw the rock, and sadly that is what many GM's and fans look at.

Younger Bledsoe, older Cutler.

Fixed.

In 04 and 05, Carson was one on the best QB's in the game behind a questionable line and offensive coaching staff. Thats how he got his money. 2007 was not a terrible year and he didn't play enough last year to really know how that would turn out. Is he overpaid? Yes, but isn't everybody in the NFL.

While I'm kinda leaning to KT's side on this I offer this one stat.

From 2005-2007 he AVG 4000 yds and 28 td's.

But that is with two excellent wideouts and all THREE players healthy.

To me, this year could basically sum up Carson Palmer's NFL playing days.

It's because the NFL pays QB's based on who is the whitest. Palmer, who lives in the cold weather of Cincinatti, has a whiter shade of skin than McNabb (Obviously. Black nfl QB's will never be paid top 5 money. Rightfully so, they suck!), Brady (He has to keep a tan to attract those super model girlfriends), and Manning (His face turns red in public).

 at this thread.

Vick was the most over-rated and over-paid QB in the past 15 years, and no KT, not because he is black.

I'll respectfully disagree. Palmer is far more overrated and overpaid. There have always been vocal critics of Vick's game and those who didnt feel he was a good QB. The fact its so difficult to get an emotionless unbiased objective view of him as a player and QB on this board is evidence of that fact. He still somehow managed to win playoff games, post a winning percentage as a starter, bring a shitty franchise like the Falcons national visibility, sold alot of jerseys, and kept the GA Dome sold out every year for 5 years. Arthur Blank made alot of money off of MV7. Is Palmer that kinda draw? Does Cincy sell out every game? Does Palmer sell alot of jerseys? Is Nike offering him deals to pitch shoes? With Vick's huge salary you could at least partially chalk it up to a business investment even though I agree he was overpaid. With Palmer, what do you chalk it up 2? Lets be real, Palmer is not the "star" that Vick was, and he's not as good as guys like Brady & Manning, yet he's paid waaaaay more than them, and he receives little fanfare for it. With that kinda salary I dont wanna hear poo about his head coach, or his defense, the guy should be bringing Cincy more prosperity than he has. The buck should stop with him if he's the true leader of that franchise.

Vick is an over rated piece of sh*t. All you have to do is compare Palmer's and Vick's stats and it's not even close. Palmer's completion percentage is 63.7. Vick never had a completion percentage higher than 56. Palmer's QB rating is 88.9. Vick's is 75.7. Palmer averages 3,000 - 4,000 yards a year, Vick can't even touch 3,000.

Btw, Vick didn't bring the Falcons national visibility. I believe Jamal Anderson did that when they went to the Super Bowl. The only reason the media loved Vick was because he could put up a good highlight reel even though he sucked as a QB. So if you wanna talk marketing, yeah Vick was better at that. If you wanna talk about who is the better QB on the football field, Palmer owns Vick no contest.

If Kimo von Oelhoffen doesn't roll on Palmer's leg in that WC game, I don't think we're having this discussion.

Nah, King Joke just wants to make this yet another race issue. He's upset cause Palmer makes more than McNabb. Also, he thinks we like Palmer better than Vick 'cause Palmer's white. King Joke thinks we're racist when really he's the only one here that is. I mean how dumb do you have to be to claim Vick is better than Palmer?

    • Smitty carrying that tank around...can't stay young forever.
    • While I agree with you in spirit my gut and my heart says I'm not falling for this again until I see consistent results across the entire upcoming season. Then I'll breathe a sigh of relief and truly feel better about the future.
    • After some time to process and also in light of other small markets being successful and not requiring top overall picks to compete. This years finals looming large. While I readily acknowledge the league office clearly despises our franchise and has absolutely no qualms about us getting the short end of any stick in the draft lottery. The Hornets may just be doomed regardless due to their own mismanagement and inability to draft and develop legitimate playoff worthy talent. And we seemingly always pick the wrong player in the draft. I mean at this point we can even take a hard look at the 2020 draft and someone like Haliburton going pick 12 while Ball went 3rd. Did we draft the wrong guy or are we just that inept at any level of talent development or is it a mixture of both? Looks the latter right now.
