BR Post Draft Power Rankings

Recommended Posts

While I don't think we're headed to another 12 win season by any means, this guy knows very little about our team needs. Unfortunately many sports writers know next to nothing about small market teams until they read a brief team summary before they write an article. He knew who we drafted, read that we went 12-4 last season, and then pulled out of nowhere that we reached throughout the draft. I actually expected him to do just that. He doesn't have to get the facts correct to keep his job. We all know he's wrong, and he doesn't give a poo.

Don't mean to rain on you, but literally anyone can write a BR article.  All you need to do is sign up (it's free).  99% of the articles on there are not written by professional writers.  In fact most of it is written by people with less knowledge than most of us here.

22 is hilariously bad though.  I understand not predicting us to go 12-4 again but there is no reason to believe we can't at LEAST crack .500.  We have too talented a roster.

Don't mean to rain on your parade, but not just anyone can write a B/R article. You have to apply to write and less than 15% of applicants are accepted.

The only thing that's as annoying as crappy B/R writers are the ignorant B/R haters. Next time get your facts straight before you post or you're just as bad as the writer of that article.

When did that happen?  it always advertised if you want to write just sign up. granted I don't frequent there often.

Why do you fuging kids goto Bleacher Report? If you stop going they'll go away and we'll all be better off.

From what Kraken told me on Twitter he's going to play DE/QB which will lead to some kick ass modified wildcat plays.

Sadly, B/R is filled with Skip Baylesses that just have crap opinions that piss people off and get attention. The best writers on B/R get lost in the fold because their articles don't produce as many comments and attention as the crappy writers.

That's why I advise people to follow any good writers on B/R and exclusively read their material. Otherwise, you're going to be fed a load of poo every time you click on some hyped up, front-page article.

This was in the author's about section: "I'm a husband, father of three and full time Bleacher Report writer."

We're going to get to see how good Cam really is this year.

We have a great defense, everyone know's that.

But I still maintain that we have one of those Patriot offenses that if it wasn't commanded by Brady it would be sh*t.

I want to see Cam take his game to elite status.

Did you see what Kassel did in Brady's absence? Or what Flynn did in Rodger's absence?

OC's and system play a very large role in offense numbers and qb ratings.

i was getting ready to write that bleacher report has gotten better in the last couple years since teaming up with i foget who at the moment and that they've actually started hiring some decent wrriters, but then i actually read the OP and decided it this wasn't the best moment to say that because it was avtually the same type of poo article by the same type of joke wannabe writer that made BR the poo site it got the reputation for being.

knocking our draft because we reached for need? did they even look to see what we did? i've been a bit critical of this draft (which i've just decided to accept and move on) but reaching for need is definitely not one of thise criticisms. benjamin and turner were drafted exactly where they should have been and ealy was drafted about a round later than he should have been. the last four picks....reaching? nobody knows where thise guys should have been picked, because its all a much bigger crapshoot than the first couple rounds are. we got safety and CB help, but i don't see either guy as having been reaches and they didn't exactly fill out our roster as much as added to the competition. and the stanford RB probably would have been drafted.  good bit earlier in another era where RBs weren't so devalue.

the only place where we need the roster filled out and where we probably would have benefitted from "reaching" is OT and we absolutely did not do that.

so yeah.....pretty much the same BR article we grew to hate/laugh at.

I still remember Billick having the Panthers at 28th in his preseason power rankings last year and Peter King predicting a 6-10 record (which would have been good for the worst record in the NFC).

    • After Bountygate and the information that came out on the Saints owners shielding pedophile priests in New Orleans it will forever be the Saints numero uno for me. FUG THE SAINTS! I hope this is just the beginning of a long term period of suffering for that shitty organization run by even shittier human beings. #2.Pats/Belicheat #3. Falcons (Mike Vick years then Matt Ryan/Julio running it up) Ryan pooping his pants and 28-3 def makes my bad days always better just thinking of those. #4 Pretty much any franchise fan base thats obnoxious Steelers, Eagles, Bills, Jets, Giants, Cowboys, etc.
    • Thank God DM used that #8 pick on a bona fide WR1 and not some bum pass rushing prospect like Stewart or someone else. I believe Tet is legit WR1 material and going forward will be our long term answer at that position since we desperately were in need of one once they traded away DJ Moore.  Tet could possibly end up even being better long term than someone who I respect a ton as a WR in Moore. Evans has been a pleasant surprise and great TE/FB depth piece going forward who could make the most of his opportunities.  Any good offense worth a damn in the NFL has 3 TEs that can do multiple things and being scared by Ian Thomas play for years should makes us all appreciate what Evans is quietly doing as a ROOKIE at one of the hardest positions to learn at the pro level.  Keep cooking DM. This season is not over obviously but seeing some growth out of young talent finally is a breathe of fresh fuggin air for once.
    • Saw this show up in my new feed. Nice to see a couple of our rookies making it into the top 5 so far, even if it is a pff measure... From https://www.pff.com/news/nfl-top-15-rookies-week-9-2025 ... 4. TE Mitchell Evans, Carolina Panthers (78.7) Evans struggled in the Panthers’ tight win over the Packers, finishing with a 41.8 PFF overall grade — third worst among tight ends this week. He was not targeted in the game and played only one snap in pass protection. He did log 15 run-blocking snaps, and although he earned a 68.9 PFF run-blocking grade in zone looks (seven snaps), his 39.0 mark in gap schemes (second worst for the week) dragged him down to a 46.6 PFF run-blocking grade overall — sixth worst for the week. Despite seeing zero targets over his past two games, Evans still leads the Carolina tight end group with a 74.3 PFF receiving grade. He has caught all nine of his targets for 90 yards, six first downs and two touchdowns. Evans also leads the Panthers’ tight end group in PFF run-blocking grade (72.2). He has recorded a 20.5% positive play rate across 175 snaps.  5. WR Tetairoa McMillan, Carolina Panthers (78.6) McMillan had a better day against the Packers, recording four catches for 46 yards. Most of that production came in the first quarter via two 16-yard catches — one of which he snatched from Carrington Valentine’s hands, who was in perfect position to break up the pass. McMillan accounted for three first downs on the day, although Green Bay was able to limit his impact after the catch, holding him to 0.8 yards after the catch per reception. McMillan now has 41 catches for 558 yards — a top-15 mark. He is also tied for second with 19 explosive gains of 15-plus yards. Three of McMillan’s catches against the Packers came between the numbers, bringing him to 22 for 318 yards and 19 first downs (tied for second most) this season. He owns a 26.1% threat rate and a 76.6 PFF receiving grade between the numbers. He also ranks in the top 10 in explosive gains (10) and yards after the catch per reception (5.5) within that area of the field.
