Caribbean Honeymoon Advice

One would think that going there would be fun....but, one would be wrong.

There was a Hedo resort next to Sandals Negril and we were able to go to that resort one afternoon.  Believe me....the people that were clothing optional were the people who had NO BUSINESS being without clothes.

Naked old and fat people playing volleyball is NOT a pretty sight.

In the afternoon the pretty people are still nursing hangovers or sleeping.

We went over about 5pm and stayed a couple of hours....it was quite frightening.

Most of the people there make me look like a Jenny Craig success story.....which as I said is frightening.

I just got back from a wedding/honeymoon at Sandals Royal Caribbean and I highly recommend it.

I like it better than any of the other all inclusive's that I saw while down there.

Food is a little better than I was expecting, and you need to make reservations at the nicer restaurants.

We really liked Sandals because we did not have to deal with a bunch of kids or teenagers running around the resort.  Couples on is definitely the way to go for your Honeymoon.

Agreed.

No kids, no singles.

And upgrade the room, the pool and ocean views are super nice, and have wet bars in them.

My budget is 5k.. we want to stay 6-7 nights. We've looked into sandals but we thought they allowed kids so we didn't look much into them I will revisit them . Sandals looks nice and there seems to be at least one on ever Caribbean island.

We want to be able to explore a bit of the island we're on such as waterfalls, rainforest things like that. As well as the local culture and from what I've read Negril seems better than montego bay for that. We also kayak alot and love the fact most resorts include non motorized boat usage at no charge.

And when it comes to booking we have found cheapcaribbean.com to have the best rates. Anyone have any sites they recommend?

You can stay under 5k no problem in Jamaica.

If you want to explore, I would hit up Sandals at Montego Bay (go with the one I mentioned) and then go hit up a couple nights in Negril.

We did a mixture of Sandals, 6 nights, then Rockhouse for 4 nights in Negril.

We loved rockhouse, but it's not all inclusive.  But so very cool and pretty.

Cheap caribbean.com isn't bad but be sure to check:

www.vacationexpress.com

I have used vacation express a few times (for Mexico) and have found them to be cheaper with better direct flight options.

I haven't used these two but they might be worth checking out (different options):

www.funjet.com

www.applevacations.com

It's funny because just today I was looking at booking a trip to Sandals Montego Bay for 6 night for next month. I can tell you that on funjet.com that trip will cost you $4,350 for two people as of about 5 hours ago.

Yea I looked at the Sandals Montego Bay and the only real drawback I see is the proximity to the airport. Its right next to it and it seems as if you would constantly hear planes taking off or landing.

Go to the one in Negril Jamaica.

There are two, in Montego Bay, the Royal Caribbean is the farthest from the airport, and I never heard 1 plane at night.  The one closer to the airport is not as nice.
