Are PJ and Hood here for a 2nd workout?

WOW!!

Recommended Posts

This is today's workout list:

James Bell – Villanova

Jordan Clarkson – Missouri
P.J. Hairston – North Carolina
Rodney Hood – Duke
Josh Huestis – Stanford
Elfrid Payton – Louisiana-Lafayette

Payton would be an interesting choice, although 9 is too high for him and he'll be gone by 24.  Unless we do the trade for Phoenix's picks or something.  6'4 point guard with great passing and ball handling skills.  Quick first step on offense, would be a great backup for Kemba I think.

I dont believe that no9 is too high at all for Payton. Saw a mock having him go no8 to Sac. He's the Damian Lillard of this draft. Only reason why he's not projected high is bc he's from a small school. Put him at UK and he would probably be a legit top8 pick.

Payton has size and athleticism. A very good floor generator and great feel for the game. Just kinda raw and needs to work on shooting the ball. But , could be a legit PG and the future for a team like Charlotte.

If Cho, MJ, and scouting team know what they're doing Payton should be very high on their list.

Chuck trying to get rid of Kemba again.

Give me:

(9) Elfrid Payton

(24) P.J. Hairston

Payton is a risky pick.

A career .268% three point shooter and only a career 61% FT shooter??

Ugh.  I don't know.  I like his size and athleticism, but how is he different from a guy like Deandre Kane that you can get in the second round or even possibly as an UDFA?

It is. If you're taking him it'll be based all on "upside" + what he did in the final four tourney. Which there's a lot to like.

You could compare his percentage to a guy like MCW: .307% 3P / .679% FT.

Shooting is a thing that can be taught. It shouldn't be a problem for a guy like Payton. It's not like you're having to change his whole shooting form like MKG.

    • Oh please with the wallowing in victimhood I'm going to take my ball and go home routine. You were just in here referring to people as super weird haters because they don't completely agree with your borderline delusional spin on what Bryce Young is and isn't as a fourth year starter. We can hope by some miracle that Bryce Young will actually be able to lead a formidable passing offense this season without being irrational homers and pretending verfiable data and what we have seen with our own two eyes doesn't tell us exactly what he has been to this point which is someone who moves the ball at a historically low rate.
    • I am curious who's behind all of this though. A video and photos from years ago surfacing? Someone has a vendetta and is driving this PR campaign. I'm loving it, but I'd also like to know who said mystery figure is.
    • I say positive things about Bryce when he earns them. Which he has a handful of times. It is all here and on the record but your lobby won’t focus on that or the flat out truth inside of our critical comments.  It is a constant thing with him and his backers - one or two good things and people are trying to extrapolate that to proof we should commit to him, while ignoring or making excuses for the larger portion of his track record.  When he is able to consistently turn in franchise QB extension worthy outings the tone of the posts will reflect that.  I have already said that if he would play like he did in the WC as often as we need him to, I would be okay with keeping him.  See you don’t want to talk about that though because it shows actual fair minded evaluation not stanning.
