Michael Vick on running quarterbacks: I started it all

I will say this. Vick is the most polarizing and gifted quarterback to enter the league. Now I don't mean to aay hes the best or wven worthy of being mentioned in the breath of manning and elway and so on. But, as far as tools to work with go vick surpasses all before him and after at this point. The speed is that of the fastest ever. Not to mention the guy still could have a top 10 arm. The way he use ro effortlessly flick his wrists and the ball would jump off his arm. The way he made peppers and the crew look bad at times I cant say enuff how amazed I was at the guy.

Dog fighting aside the talent vick pocessed when drafted in 2001, name one other qb ever who had as much upside(cam is next in terms of physical gifts).

Only fans of his generation who aren't educated about the history of the league would think he has a point. What Randall Cunningham was doing even in my generation was just as unfathomable and HE wasn't even the first to utilize that style. I'm sure every generation had a player like Vick in terms of being mostly athleticism and improvisation.

Comparing randle Cunningham's talent to Vick's talent is suggesting all dual threat qbs are the same because they all run. The NFL has never seen an athlete like vick and may never see it again.

What every happened to Fran Tarkenton?

And Randal Cunningham, was a much more complete QB, willing passer than Vick.

However, considering he may be on the twilight of his career, Vick is now placing his career in perspective when being asked, and I have no problem with that.

This guy maybe a back up next season. Can you blame him?

Who cares that he was "athletic". So what!?

And there's more to athleticism that just speed. Take RG3. He's fast right? However, who's more athletic, him or Cam?

Randall Cunningham, was a much better QB.

I left out Steve Young and John Elway, etc., as I didn't want to compare him to guys that won Supe bowls who may have played on stacked teams.

I would totally disagree with this. just as an athlete I think you have to go to Jim Brown or Bo Jackson right off the top  so "never seen" is ridiculous. There have been many great athletes in the NFL.

Manziel will never achieve Vick's success.

Another 'know it all' (one that gets paid by SI for his opinion) said, after Seattle drafted Rusell Wilson, that he would "struggle to see the field at any point over the next three years". I'm no Manziel fan but making definitive statements about the future of players who have never played an NFL game can end up making you look pretty dumb.

Don't bring Wilson into this. He ran a 4.56, built like a brick and Manziel just suck. Manziel was drafted in the 1st round. Teams pick QBs in the 1st round because they have a need in that position yet even his coach don't think he can supplant the back up. The only success he'll achieve is at replacing the media void Tibow left behind. He'll be the 3rd string QB by the second year. He'll be released by the 3rd.

I thought it was obvious that the Wilson prediction was just an example of going out on a limb and having it collapse under you. I guess it wasn't obvious enough for you. Next time I'll spell it out. Meanwhile, your dead cert predictions are really funny.
