Hornets willing to part with #9 for Afflalo

I love Afflalo's game, I'm just not sold he wouldn't bolt after one year. I don't want to give up a top 10 pick for a one year rental. But lol at you people saying Hendo is as good. Have you ever actually sat down and watched a little of Afflalo play? Especially last year considering he put up career numbers while being the #1 option on a terrible team.

Wow I said he wasn't an all star. Meaning he's not got star power. He's an average sg. Always has been always will be.

On the other hand. Jefferson has had many season where he should have made

The all star team but got robbed. Nice attempt but try again. For y'all to even compare that is dumb. Affalo was on a terrible team and still didn't put up great numbers be the number one guy.

He's ALMOST 30 and will be a rental. I frighing hate Henderson but would rather have him than do this dumb poo trade for him straight up.

Let's not make excuses...

Afflalo like Jefferson was snubbed from the all-star team this year. At the all-star break Afflalo was averaging 20 points per game.

After looking at his career stats, this year he could have made it.  I wouldn't necessarily say he was snubbed. (Would have to look at the other SGs who made it)  I think though if you compared careers, Al Jefferson should have made a couple of all-star rosters.  All that said, after looking at the stats, Afflalo looks pretty good.  His numbers have gone up every season, and at the age of 28, I was wrong to say his skills peaked.  Yeah, I would do it if Afflalo was committed long term.

And nobody said Henderson was better. I said he's not even that much better. They play the same kinda game. Except Hendo can't shoot threes. Good god y'all.

We all know affalo is better chill out. We just don't want a slightly better older Henderson who's hit his limit

They play nothing a like lol. Afflalo fits our need as a floor spacer and perimeter threat. Henderson is a baseline rover (notice that instead of Henderson being next to Kemba on the perimeter, McBob always was and Henderson was slotted in the corner) that uses his athleticism to get to the rim and a fadeaway jumpshot that annoys the piss out of everyone.

Did u not read the part where I said except hit threes. They don't have the ability to break someone down off the dribble. Average handling. Good mid range scorers. Plays good defense. Only thing affalo does is shoot 3's better.

And don't at me wrong guys. I like affalo. Definetely want him but not at the expense of the 9th overall pick for a average player. No thank u.

I have a little more hope for 9th overall pick than Affalo. That's all

I think if it was assured that we would take Stauskas at the ninth pick, I would probably take Stauskas potential over Afflalo's veteran savy. Of course that's just me.

I agree. But honestly I would take most of the guys we rumored to like over affalo. Even McDermott.

Arron Afflalo ranks 8th in shooting guard scoring, 6th in field goal percentage among shooting guards, and 4th in three point percentage among shooting guards. If you want to go even further, he's the second most efficient shooter among shooting guards who average over 35 minutes per game (Dragic is first).

On the contrary, Henderson ranks 18th in shooting guard scoring, 15th in field goal percentage among shooting guards, and didn't even shoot enough three pointers to qualify in the rankings among shooting guards for three point percentage.

I'm gonna go ahead and say that Afflalo is a little better than Henderson.

And if Afflalo sucks because he's never been to an all-star game due to playing in small markets... then so does Al Jefferson.

does not justify using a top 10 pick on him. Maybe 24. MAYBE

    • Yeah, Darnold is basically a really high level game manager. Put him on a good team where he isn't required to provide lift and he can shine. But when you need him to do the franchise QB thing and put the team in his back here comes the INTs. He just doesn't seem to have any positions on his dial between "super conservative take whatever's there and take care of the ball" and "YOLO!!! There's a receiver down there somewhere in that sea of defenders!"
    • See, it's posts like this that show me how many of you are taking my post as an anti Dowdle post and saying he didn't have a good game, but that's the furthest thing from my intention and what I'm trying to say. Because that's the comparison you're making with Bryce, it's adding or removing a small handful of plays from their stats and saying "this is the game they could have had instead" I'm literally only talking about the play calling from the game, it's literally in the title of the thread, that we still have play calling problems. I'm saying that people are going to get stuck on the 200 yard rushing game by a player and extrapolate that to "well Canales must have called a good game" and I'm trying to say not to fall for that mirage. Because 6 big runs do not make for a well called game when we had over 60 snaps. Even beyond that, if you add in the two 20+ yard catches from T-Mac and the one XL had, and you're looking at 9 of over 60 snaps that accounted for close to 60% of our yards in the game. That's a few big plays covering up for coaching deficiencies, that's NOT a well called 60 minutes of football. Had he had the 200 yards because Canales' play calling was keeping the defense on their heels, not knowing what we were doing next, and Dowdle was ripping of 8-12 yard runs on a consistent basis, then yea, that would be something to be excited about with Canales finally calling a good game for a change. Our offense is predictable and the play design is basic, there is nothing I've seen out of Canales' offense that says he's able to scheme and call plays to outsmart the defense, which is something all the elite offensive coaches are able to do in this day and age.
    • Dante Moore is the top pick in a couple of mock drafts now.
