I guess I can see them (us?) complaining about all of that.

We hate our winters but hate when it's hot out. More so the humidity than the heat.

Accents I can see as well but not sure why they complain about them. I speak with people all over the US on a daily basis and even though there is an accent with NC/SC population, its not bad. If I can understand the words coming out of your mouth I have no issue with an accent.

Sweet tea? Who doesn't love sweet tea? I guess they prefer Loganberry to your sweet tea.

Local teams - I don't get this one either. Outside of the Bills and Sabres, they don't have anything. Their college teams sucks and everyone is a Syracuse fan anyways. I'm in the minority since I'm a Panthers, Braves, Duke fan. I don't belong in WNY.

Food - WNY food isn't anything to write home about.. I can't think of anything that stands out. Some specialty items like Beef on weck, sponge candy, Mighty Taco… oh and Wegmans!

I think in the end, we just like to complain a lot over stuff we can't control. I have a few friends that have moved to NC and seem to love it. Only thing I see them complain about is how everything shuts down with the little bit of snow you get.

When I Iived in Myrtle Beach I used to fug a stripper from Watertown, NY. I spent some time up there and liked it. I make sales calls in Buffalo and enjoy it. If I ever chose to move there I wouldn't whine about the local environment. It's all in good fun amongst friends but that stuff just gets old. And the snow shuts things down because we own two plows and about 6 lbs of rock salt for the entire state.

Watertown? Thats definitely what we consider Upstate NY. I don't venture to Buffalo often and I live an hour away. Last time I was there was for the Bills/Panthers game. That should tell you all that you need to know about Buffalo.

Her dad tried to kill me by taking me cross country skiing on the Tug Hill Plateau.

I would not fly across the world to go to Asheville or Boone. Sorry. Those are vacation spots for ballers on a budget.

I guess I enjoy the view more than the attractions when I'm traveling.

Yeah. Less than 30 minutes from Boone.

Yeah, being that close I probably went there a time or two. I was just young and had to have rides if I went somewhere. So most of the time I wouldn't know where I was at anyway lol. You ever go to the Tavern up in Boone?
