RIP Philip Lutzenkirchen

Didn't see posted but wanted to post respects. This doesn't appear to have gotten much attention, but he was huge part of the 2010 national title with Cam. Dead at 23 via car accident. Condolences to all that knew him. Sad.

The driver died.   He was a baseball player at UGA.   The passenger who was wearing a seat belt was treated at the hospital and released.   The girl was ejected from the car and is in critical conditon.  I haven't seen an update today.  Just terrible.  Lutz was a very good football player and from everything I've read he was a super nice person.

His 2012 season at Auburn was cut short by a hip injury.  He was signed by the Rams but the same injury kept him from making the team.  He was working for a financial company in Montgomery and volunteering as a tight end coach for a high school.  He will be missed.  RIP.

I've been bummed all yesterday and today.

Us Auburn folk had fun with Lutzenkirchen... lots of us said that "Lutzenkirchen" was German for "touchdown" (he has the Auburn record for TD receptions by a TE).

He caught the winning TD (from Cam) in the 2010 Iron Bowl vs. Alabama, a comeback after being down by 21 points.  His spontaneous silly little TD dance went down in AU history as "the Lutzie".  And he went along with it with good humor because that's the kind of guy he was.

I don't know a single person, even opposing players and fans, that had a bad opinion of the kid.  He went to high school about 2 miles away from my house as the crow flies.  Lots of sad people up here.  He impacted lots of lives in a positive way.

In just 23 years.

Too damn young... dammit.  I'm still bummed. :(

    • Winning games and be a +500 team are good. But the goal is to win Super Bowl.  Chiefs had Alex Smith, went to playoff twice and still replaced him.   BY as of now: - To many fumbles - Completion in the intermediate range is just far below acceptable - Not enough of a deep throw threat....   The stats you try use is deceiving.  Catchable......  That is an opinion. Show me the completion %. And also, how does BY compare to other QBs using the stats you cited. Oh... ranked at 27

    • The Entitlement Paradox: When Winning Isn't Enough for Panther fans.    Just the other season(s) we were praying for wins by any means. Brought in every run of the mill QB you could think of.  We know all sides of the ball was bad like egregious bad. However some how we have won 5 games and TOXIC ENTITLEMENT has emerged.    We are a team that has to take wins by anymeans nothing has changed. Keep pounding means it aint gonna be perfect!!    Some panther fans have now developed a toxic entitlement where even victories feel insufficient, demanding flawless performance, or perfection, which stems from historical success in which we dont have any lol. This mindset poisons communities by fostering relentless criticism, harassment, and ingratitude that undermine team morale and alienate casual supporters. For the new Carolina Panthers, this could manifest as fans booing Bryce Young after gritty wins for low passing yards despite low turnovers, pressuring tepper into premature changes mid-rebuild, or driving away talent through online abuse!! eroding the positive momentum from their recent 4-game streak has brought us. Trust and believe the players do see your toxicity.    Anyways here are some positive stats.      Most Accurate QB on... 20+ Yard Throws 1. Drake Maye (79.2%) 2. Sam Darnold (79.2%) 3. Bryce Young (75.0%) 10-19 Yard Throws 1. Jaxson Dart (88.0%) 2. Jayden Daniels (82.9%) 3. Drake Maye (80.7%) 0-9 Yard Throws 1. Drake Maye (92.9%) 2. Spencer Rattler (92.6%) 3. Bryce Young (91.7%) @FantasyPtsData
