Top 5 players at Each Position

Honestly, you could make the argument for Lance to be number 1, James Harden doesn't play a lick of defense. Again, this shows how weak the 2 guard position is.

When you can score like Harden can no one cares about the D.

He is gonna outscore the opposing SG every night.

You guys are killing me here.

LS second best SG in the league. Kemba in top ten. MKG going to be dynamic once he learns to shoot.

All good players. All vastly overrated by Hornets fans.

Lance was at least the 3rd best SG last year. He could really solidify himself as the 2nd best SG this upcoming season by being in a bigger role. Al is def the 2nd best Center.

Now, I agree with you on Kemba and MKG. Kemba is no where close to be in the top10. I think he's probably the 15th and that's really me just being nice. Kemba is the most overrated player in CLT.

MKG could be better if he ever develop a jumper, but that's "better", not great. Again, he's another overrated player by homers. His defense is solid right now but fans are acting like hes Kawhi Leonard good. No, no, no.

PG:
(1) Chris Paul
(2) John Wall- might be #1 if he keeps improving.
(3) Stephen Curry
(4) Russell Westbrook
(5) Tony Parker

PG position is DEEP- tough to leave off Lillard, Lowry, and Lawson (who was quietly spectacular last year in Denver)

SG:
(1) James Harden
(2) Klay Thompson
(3) Goran Dragic- defended SGs for PHX in their 2 PG lineup, so I'm gonna cheat and put him here
(4) Monta Ellis
(5) Lance Stephenson/ Demar Derozan- Derozan was better last year, but I think Lance surpasses him this year

SF:
(1) Lebron James
(2) Kevin Durant
(3) Carmelo Anthony
(4) Paul George
(5) Kawhi Leonard

PF:
(1) LaMarcus Aldridge
(2) Blake Griffin
(3) Kevin Love
(4) Anthony Davis- hard to place him.  May be #1 next season
(5) Dirk Nowitzki

C:
(1) Dwight Howard
(2) Joakim Noah
(3) Marc Gasol- passing and defense gives him a slight edge over Big Al (though Big Al is a much better fit for CHA)
(4) Al Jefferson
(5) DeMarcus Cousins

Is this As of right now or as of last year? I know Paul George is probably a top 5 SF. What about Kevin Martin as a top 5 sf? Deng could be a top 5 sf it all depends on health. Chris bosh is a top 5 PF or center which ever position you chose and Wade has still been a top 5 SG despite injuries. Monte Ellis and Dirk could be on the list and so could Al Horford.

I don't see no love for Rondo. He is top pg. Conley could be on the list as well. Pg is deep and it depends on your preference, do you want a scorer or playmaker pg?

Also no love for Gortat as top center ?

I don't see Beal or Waiters as top 5 SG as of yet.

Both Gasols are top 5 in my opinion.

Also what about Drew Bledsoe?

Lance is better in every aspect of the game over Klay with the exception of shooting.

Lance is better than Derozan in every aspect of the game besides athleticism.

Klay is one of the best shooters in the league though, so that kind of makes a difference.  Plus he's solid at other aspects of the game that people dont like to give him credit for

Derozan was a better scorer than Lance last year, without a doubt

Drew Bledsoe? I think he retired from the NFL awhile ago, so I'm not sure why he'd be a top NBA player...

Pau Gasol a top 5 player? Lol. According to your logic you might as well make the every NBA player a top 5 player.

PG - Paul, Westbrook, Curry, Lillard, Irving

SG - Harden, Derozan, Stephenson, Thompson, Wade (If he stays healthy)

SF - Lebron, KD, Anthony, George, Leonard

PF - Aldridge, Griffin, Love, Nowitzki, Bosh (Even though he's primarily a center)

I agree with everything besides not including Wall or Anthony Davis.  I would ax Irving since he's not a two way player, and I would take Davis over Nowitzki and Bosh next season.  If you're talking about the future in general Davis would be my #1 PF.

    • A team should always be putting at least one or two draft picks in at tackle and guard each season. Those guys just don't last nearly long enough and those that do get very, very expensive. In our situation, we need a little more time to see what the Icky injury works itself out to. Njiman performed really well out there and if this injury lingers into the next season, then he might do well enough there to hold the line for the team. Or we could draft early if there is a stud LOT in the draft when our spot comes along.  Honestly, we may be looking at replacing both LT and RT this season at this point. Moton is getting long in the tooth and while he deserves a shot to go for a playoff run with this team, I don't know whether we will really see him come back next season yet. It's still so darned early in all of this to say.
    • Because we had a ton of things go our way this year and made the playoffs with a -70 point differential.  This year was the outlier.  Regression to the mean is unavoidable.  So the team will have to significantly improve to beat 8 wins next year.
    • One thing I noticed in this game (and I say this as the biggest of Bryce Young haters) is that Bryce did do a solid job of throwing into voids in this game, and leading receivers on crossers.  There were a few times where I was thinking "where the hell is he throwing it" only for a receiver to appear out of nowhere and catch it in stride.  Mike McDaniel might be a guy that can squeeze a little bit of production out of the otherwise ghastly Bryce Young. His offenses heavily feature that style of passing game.  I've heard Idzik is drawing interest from other teams.  If so, bringing McDaniel in at OC would be a stellar move.  I know it'll never happen, but fun to think about.
