Your more exciting/disappointing players so far in tc

Captain Morgan

Folks you missed.

Ecstatic: Kelvin Benjamin the roof on this guy is out of this world. I believe he is going to have a ROY type of season. Gonna be a beast.

Excited: Brandon Williams; Marcus Lucas

Would Like to hear more about: Dave Foucault

Worried: Garry Williams and the OT depth chart. not looking too promising.

Scary thing is they are saying the same thing in New Orleans about Brandon Cooks. He has been taking a lot of balls to the house on bubble screens and dump offs.

Explain to me why this is such a big deal for you. if you don't like the thread... DON'T READ IT.... The majority of this forum likes discussing the possibilities of who might make this team including Mods. And after a week I think it is a very relevant topic because starting next week the real test starts and this is where the pretenders are eliminated from the contenders.

But like I said... You don't think the thread is relevant. You are 100% happy to feel that way. Don't get involved.

People like you really irritate me because you think it is irrelevant therefore it shouldn't be a thread. WTF is a forum for?

DON'T LIKE IT.... DON'T READ IT... PRETTY SIMPLE INSTRUCTIONS....

Not to be bandwagon jumper but I was thinking the same thing. Many people can't make it to training camp because of work so this thread kind of serves as a recap from different huddlers. It gives everyone a different perspective outside of Zods practice recap. I thought it was a pretty good thread idea actually.

Learn to read. I don't have a problem with the idea of the thread if it was 2-3 wks into training camp or we had played a preseason game. But to be judging players especially rookies after one week of training camp when 80% of the people commenting haven't personally been is a bit much.

Not scary to me.  Our rivals are going to get good players, especially considering they all picked before us.  The Bucs got Mike Evans and ASJ, who also unfortunately look good, supposedly.  The Falcons already had weapons.  None are going to be able to do anything however with their statue QB's on their collective backs (NO foolishly giving up their 3rd which would have given them much needed beef on their interior OL which we were happy to collect).  Wouldn't trade our draft for any in the division, and that's a feat considering we picked last of the four.

Its training camp. Everyone takes every ball to the house because they aren't tackling in practice.

That is a minority opinion.  These guys get roughly 5 weeks to make a name for themselves.  They don't get a mulligan week before the coaches start to notice.  You come out ballin on day one and consistently perform through 5 weeks.  You are going to have a very good chance of making the team.

Once again, If you don't like the thread.  Don't read it.

Did I tell you about the time I caught a screen from Cam at training camp and juked right through our talented front seven? They were all just looking like, damn who is that white guy?

Can I get some bail money?

Question. Do you see an additional emphasis on passing the ball in camp to get the receivers and the pass blocking going?

I know the Panthers plan to run the ball a lot but a large percentage of the tweets focus on passing or pass blocking.

    • My general take on the state of the team not going too in depth is this: Either Morgan or Canales (hard to say whether it’s the players or the system/coaching, and that goes for any team) has been responsible for considerable strides forward on D and a bit more productive offense, but it’s been a small sample size and we collapsed at the end of the year. I lean towards it being more Canales growing as a coach and building a culture of buy-in and getting the most out of players in the locker room. My reasoning for leaning there is that Morgan was part of the Fitterer stink and it’ll take him a while of sustained success in roster management to overcome that in my mind. Next year is a big year to see if that was a fluke or not. These big signings this offseason are exciting and sometimes teams can have amazing FA classes but more often than not those who spend big and “win the offseason” don’t show the results in the regular season.    As far as QB goes, in a vacuum I’m completely fine with the Pickett signing, he’s ok value for a backup and a huge improvement over Dalton. If Bryce went down there isn’t a huge drop off there and if the rest of the team builds on last year they could win games with him under center. I’m not sure the ‘85 Bears could win games with current Dalton under center. But the O is just so damn limited with Bryce and Pickett does not push him at all, he’s purely a backup. So I agree we I’d love to see a QB with some upside drafted, a guy who could actually push Bryce if/when he struggles or doesn’t improve any further. He’s improved steadily the last 2 years but it has been from arguably worst in league history to still below average. I’m not convinced he can get any better than purely average at absolute best. I hope he can man but I just don’t see it happening. And the longer we keep penciling him as starter the less confidence I have in this staff. Even with our unexpected relative success as a team last year sometimes you do have to take another step back to take a step forward, and that could mean moving on from Bryce, and temporarily going with a slightly worse player like Pickett while aggressively trying to upgrade the position and taking dart throws in the draft/free agency on upside players. I know, there wasn’t much available this offseason outside of Willis, and this draft class seems to be poor at QB. But I’d have preferred we try something and if it didn’t work and we took a step back then just keep trying until something hits. Rolling with Bryce is just delaying the inevitable and living in purgatory.    just my 2 cents, hope I’m proved wrong
    • His market value is 15.7 million. Not worth it to bring him at his age, at that price. If we were to bring in a veteran, DeAndre Hopkins is available for 2 million market value. I've said this in other threads, get Keenan Allen to play the slot. He's as good as a pass catching tight end and is market is under 7 million.
