Why can't Godfrey go back to Safety?

I have watched a Saints game.  I've watched more Panther games.  And I've watched enough football to know that systems make a difference.

 

Harper is up in age, but Godfrey has been a liability at safety for a long time.

 

Him going back to safety is a lousy idea.  Some have questioned whether he should even make the roster.

Godfrey is just not a very good player at this point, and that's not even counting the Achilles injury.

It doesn't matter of he's in coverage, against the run, etc. there's a reason that Godfrey took a legitimate pay cut, which is rare in the NFL. He knew his job was at stake, and that's the only way he could give himself some more rope.

I know it's very Ironic how you can be a Panther fan for as long as you have and feel Roman can't cover Harper is a better Ss then Godfrey.
