Compare ESPN reporters, Pats vs. Panthers

I like David Newton so I'm not pointing this out to bash him.  But he is a converted NASCAR reporter with limited NFL creds.  I thought it would be interesting to compare his ESPN pre & post game articles with the Patriot guy.  Night and Day.  

 

Again, not so much bashing DN as being impressed with Mike Reiss

No less than 14 or more in-depth blog reports and video with snap-counts, strategy, multiple player, coach and opponent quotes, just the whole nine yards.

but other than that gem Panther fans could just feast on a short, standard W2W4 piece yesterday

 

 

From the snap counts by Reiss (if accurate) it appears their starters only played one half except for the starting OL which was closer to 3/4's.  My local affiliate lost the feed for 30 minutes or so but it seemed as though I saw a  lot of their starters deep into the third.

 

Again, not surprising we get basic coverage but impressed by the work of Reiss.

I think it's safe to assume Boston media is considered a more coveted, high profile position. David Newton doesn't have to do much to keep his job. Reiss is writing for his job and reputation with every game.

I think there is more money given by espn to cover that pats as well as they are one of 4 cities that have their own dedicated webpage.
