Re-watching The Walking Dead after reading 40 comics

Exactly.

This isn't CSI: Miami.

This is a show that SHOULD and is SUPPOSED to be about human nature more than zombies.  The zombies are just there, but the real story is about how humans are acting and adapting to the situation of a post-apocolyptic landscape.   In fact, I'm pretty sure the zombies won't even be around later on in the comics.  In the comics and the novel "Rise of the Governor" he had a much, much better story in the comics.  They just didn't do it right.  I actually think the actor could have pulled it off with better writing too making it even more annoying.

I really, really wish HBO wouldn't have passed on this show before it came around to AMC.  I watch the show, it's a good popcorn show, but the lost potential is very high.

the writing on the show is worse than the acting, even though i do hate some of the actors.   some of them are pretty good too, and do what they can.

Andrew Lincoln and Chandler Riggs have been SPOT ON, IMO. Hell, Sarah Callies was good for Laurie as well (I hated her in the comics, and I hated her on the show, for basically the same reasons).

Some writing criticisms, sure. They turned Rick way too soft during the first part of season 4 for my liking. Rick without his gun and refusing to carry it? Child please. Before that, the way the introduced Tyreese bugged me (so much potential to make up for it, as well. But, they just refused to. Though, the fight with Rick was at least a decent effort). Before that, Michonne at first. Sure, stoic MIchonne at the start is understandable and well played. But for the longest while, she was NOTHING like the dynamic comic character. Maggie started off great, then kinda got lost. As did Glenn.

Abraham and Eugene have been perfect thus far. Only a matter of time before they fug that up though. As long as it works with the show's story, though, I can see myself being cool with it.

Overall, I love the show. I can see the issues people have, but I think they're largely overblown and/or some people just don't like it, and that's fine.

other than the names, the characters aren't even the same

One could argue that Carl is pretty much the same and that's about it. I wouldn't even care about character changes if they didn't change them for the worse.

Rick turned into a pussy.

Andrea turned into a bleeding heart bitch.

Tyreese is just bland as fug.

The Governor is the only one who I actually liked the change on. His solo episodes are some of my favorite of the entire series.

I can't wait to see how they ruin Negan though!

And.....they're not supposed to be. The series is based on the comic, not an exact retelling. When they do another series, based on a different group, it's gonna have some aspects of the comic, too.

I'm rewatching it, too. It's surprising how much I'd forgotten.

    • My tailoring green idea was not for him to be the starter but to add some value beyond just a developmental quarterback I think size speed is something Bryce doesn't have he has those and would immediately feel the fourth and one package and possibly red zone and some power packages for us
    • Do you have against Willis I believe you're around when we have the draft with corral and Willis were on the board and me personally I was banging the table for Willis as early as round one but a lot of people thought corral was better but it's amazing with a little coaching and time can do with me I always go with potential and upside versus oh the guy just plays football you know sometimes that's not enough
    • I know or needs and this probably isn't with a lot of people want but if he's available at 19 I don't think you can discount that he would be the best player on the board I think with 43 speed he's as fast as leggette. 63240 something he would stretch the field  Strike fear over the middle of opposing linebackers and also probably cure our long time history of no serviceable tight end since Greg Olsen I think a lot of needs like tackle maybe linebacker could be filled and free agency to the point like they did last year where we fix a lot of this and draft the best player we can on the board.  After his combine and the numbers in the 43-in vertical I'm not sure that he will be available but if he is I bet that he's highly considered what say you
