Strength of schedule.....

There are a few huddlers here that are telling everyone to temper tbere expectations a little, pointing out the neither TB or the Lions are very good teams. TB does look pretty bad, and Detroit has always been erratic. One thing the lions have been consistant. at since they drafted Stafford ib 2009, is scoring.

The Lions have averaged 26.4 last year and the Panthers held them to 7.

I for one will not temper my expectations, this team is special and I firmly believe we are a force to be reckoned with

I think I was reading Barnwell's picks for this week and he said something like "The Texans, Raiders, Jaguars suck, the Seahawks are elite, and the other 28 teams can beat each other any given sunday". It's a pretty good summation that we can't always look at a team and think we'll beat them. That being said, I have faith in our team to make the playoffs 2 years in a row.

at this point, a healthy dose of confidence stained realism is a god thing.

be realistic: its a long season. Panthers have played inconsistently on offense and in the secondary. history is still against us until its not. we've only beat TB and Detroit to this point. we still have the hardest part of the schedule to come.

be confident: the Panthers defense is exactly what we thought they would be, even without Greg Hardy. the Panther's offense can put up points when they are in rhythm. it wont be long until the Cam-led Panthers offense will be in-sync right out of the gate. opponents that we thought would be strong have REALLY struggled thus far this season.

i believe in this team. i believe they are for real. i believe that, based on the way the rest of the NFC South has played, the Panthers have the best shot at winning the division. i believe the Panthers will go into their week 5 matchup with the Bears sitting at 4-0. but the games get tough after that for seven straight weeks.

temper your expectations, but be confident. this team can hang with the best in this league.

I am very pleased by how the defense has stepped up and how the offense has dug itself out of ruts to put up points but its a long season and we are only at the tip of it. A lot of good teams which are very consistence on offense and I hope that the panther offense is able to capitalize more when they have the ball cause the defense can only do so much. I just want to see more consistency in the offense and not to allow plays with huge loses which end up stalling drives.

I am all for confidence even at 2-0 but as long people and the team understand its only the beginning, they're still improvements that need to be made.

The Panthers held one of the best, even if very inconsistent, offenses in the NFL to 7 points yesterday. With that defense, there's not going to be too many games this year that the Panthers don't have a chance in.

It's a long season. The roles of the Saints and Panthers are completely reversed from a year ago. I don't expect a collapse from the Panthers, but I expect (hope) the Saints get better. I'm hoping for a tight division race down the stretch.

Oh it's gonna happen. The Saints will to remember how to win just like the panthers figured it out for the first time in this new era.

I agree with everything you said, except i will not temper my expectations and you can't make me. lol

All joking aside, the element that has me most excited is the play of our secondary to this point, before the season started I would have been happy if our secondary played = to 2013 squad, all indications point to a much better unit.

I think we shut down an offense yesterday that had a better than average QB in Stafford who happens to be throwing the ball to the best receiver in the game. Johnson made some good plays but his performance was not spectacular. Defense really got to them.

........and Tate was totally shut down.

For the first time in my life I feel like I don't have to worry about what team is going to show up on Sunday. Inconsistency is a thing of the past. This team works hard day in and day out. Then they ball out. Ready for Sunday and can't wait to watch the Panthers drill the squeelers right in brown eye.

    • Geno fits Canales and fits the O.  It’s why Geno worked in Seattle and not Oakland.  He is a deep ball passer.  NFL is about fit.  Geno would beat Bryce out in 2 weeks in a real camp battle.  Which ain’t Geno praise.  It’s just recognition Geno is a round peg and that is what we are lacking
    • Awesome idea.  Let's make Cincinnati an offer.  I'm 100% sure they are ready to give up on Burrow. That is if you can keep him on the field.  He's been available how many games over that past 3 seasons? Getting Burrow is about as realistic as finding the allusive Rainbow Unicorn.  Do you realize that Young was responsible for 19 of the 40 yards on that final drive? Rico had 21 yards. Both of those completions were for first downs.  That's what game winning drives require.  It doesn't require the QB to throw the ball each and every down.  You do know this? It's clear that you won't give credit where credit is due.   While Bryce isn't your typical "Franchise QB" he's running the gameplan our coaching staff designs.  Yeah, Yeah, Yeah, Bryce sucks because you say so.
    • This team is built to win, which I said at the start of the season. I'm not saying we are a super bowl contender, but it's a playoff roster.  The big handcuff is at the QB position.  If Bryce Young cannot start playing at a professional level we are going to continue struggling and stealing wins instead of punching people in the mouth like we should.  The reality is we should be sitting at 2 losses and have blown several teams out, including Green Bay, but having absolutely NOTHING in the passing game is holding us back badly.  Point being, in this current scenario our best hope is that we barely make the playoffs and get absolutely obliterated in the first round.
