2014 Game by Game Analysis - Part 3

24-13 PANTHERS

I think our style of play makes the game look closer than it is. 24-6 til the end of the fourth.

I also believe Cam is less hesitate to take off once everything breaks down. So look for an increase in his yards PER carry.

I am not sure that everything is going to break down very often....the Steelers defense has been soft so far this season and they have REALLY struggled to get pressure on the QB.

Right, thats why i emphasized the "PER". When he runs I think it will be a good run each time. No hesitation. Not necessarily more yards OVERALL, but when he does run, it will be more effective. More yards with less attempts. IMO.

Damn....didn't even realize you wrote it. I'll go back and read now.

haha yea man. im not just copy and pasting someone else's article. i do a few hours worth of research Monday through Wednesday, writing as i go along, and then do final editing on Thursday (or at least thats my plan).

i try to be as professional about it as possible, quoting when i use terminology used by someone else. but i rarely use someone else's words anyway. my research sources tend to be the NFL.com/ESPN.com injury reports, ESPN team clubhouses/depth charts, BleacherReport's OL/DL positional rankings, AccuWeather.com, and storylines that i pick up from the various articles written about the Panthers and their weekly opponent. When i add trivia or stats, i try to use ESPN's stats. Sometimes i will use NFL stat-database websites, but not always.

one thing i try hard not to do is to simply regurgitate the opinions of the media or even the Huddle as i write. i try to approach each game with an emotional bias toward the Panthers, but an overriding football objectivity.

and as always, i am open to feedback as far as how i can improve the write up and/or make it more interesting for Huddle readers.

My apologies for missing that initially. Respect the effort for sure.

    • Winning games and be a +500 team are good. But the goal is to win Super Bowl.  Chiefs had Alex Smith, went to playoff twice and still replaced him.   BY as of now: - To many fumbles - Completion in the intermediate range is just far below acceptable - Not enough of a deep throw threat....   The stats you try use is deceiving.  Catchable......  That is an opinion. Show me the completion %. And also, how does BY compare to other QBs using the stats you cited. Oh... ranked at 27
    • Your intelligence is artificial.
    • The Entitlement Paradox: When Winning Isn't Enough for Panther fans.    Just the other season(s) we were praying for wins by any means. Brought in every run of the mill QB you could think of.  We know all sides of the ball was bad like egregious bad. However some how we have won 5 games and TOXIC ENTITLEMENT has emerged.    We are a team that has to take wins by anymeans nothing has changed. Keep pounding means it aint gonna be perfect!!    Some panther fans have now developed a toxic entitlement where even victories feel insufficient, demanding flawless performance, or perfection, which stems from historical success in which we dont have any lol. This mindset poisons communities by fostering relentless criticism, harassment, and ingratitude that undermine team morale and alienate casual supporters. For the new Carolina Panthers, this could manifest as fans booing Bryce Young after gritty wins for low passing yards despite low turnovers, pressuring tepper into premature changes mid-rebuild, or driving away talent through online abuse!! eroding the positive momentum from their recent 4-game streak has brought us. Trust and believe the players do see your toxicity.    Anyways here are some positive stats.      Most Accurate QB on... 20+ Yard Throws 1. Drake Maye (79.2%) 2. Sam Darnold (79.2%) 3. Bryce Young (75.0%) 10-19 Yard Throws 1. Jaxson Dart (88.0%) 2. Jayden Daniels (82.9%) 3. Drake Maye (80.7%) 0-9 Yard Throws 1. Drake Maye (92.9%) 2. Spencer Rattler (92.6%) 3. Bryce Young (91.7%) @FantasyPtsData
