Thomas Davis "Unacceptable"

Brandon Marshall and Alshon Jefferey are way better than Randall Cobb and Jordy Nelson.  Rodgers is way way better than Cutler.  I'm not saying Cobb and Nelson suck, but as it seems you're alluding to, they are more a product of Rodgers than he is of them.  Marshall and Jefferey would be good on any team.

Marshall and Jeffery are very good receivers, I'm not suggesting otherwise. But Nelson and Cobb are producing light years beyond the Chicago tandem:

Cobb/Nelson: 72 receptions- 54 receiving first downs- 160yds avg per game- 963 receiving yards- 12 TDs

Marshall/Jeffery: 56 receptions- 39 receiving first downs- 133yds avg per game- 796 receiving yards- 7 TDs

To further your statement "Marshall and Jeffery would be good on any team;" I would counter that by saying they'd be great on Green Bay.

ARodg is a beast, top 5 easily....

This is a winnable game, but we are going to need the defense to make the trip, and bring all they got.....

As far as the 'unacceptable' comment -We've had to accept it, except weeks 1 & 2. Force fed the last few......

Oh I agree, we seem to be agreeing in a roundabout way.  Marshall and Jefferey would top 3k yards this year with Rogers as their QB.

Ron Rivera's job should be on the line as bad as this defense looks, one of the worst in the league.

Not if we keep winning. Not Rivera's fault TD and CJ and Bene and Norman are all banged up and not his fault our 2nd best player on D isn't playing.

Kinda off topic but Avant sounded like he wanted to go for it on 4th in OT.

Back on topic--

Over-pursuing and freeing gaps at the second level has been bad.  We got the safeties we've got because it wasn't supposed to be like that.  Cason, DeCoud, and Harper don't look any different than they did with their other teams.  So when Bene and Norman are back, that will help out greatly.  White is a mystery to me because I think he progressed very well last season and may have hit a wall this year.  This year is a big test for him.

I think going into the offseason our defensive needs will be: SS, CB, OLB, DE

Also, McD is still a solid DC but I find us either blitzing too many guys at the wrong time or playing zone at inopportune times when the offensive situation is predictable.  He overthinks it sometimes.
