I really think some people don't actually read the posts, just the thread title. It has been said numerous times that the Panthers can do nothing about it. Why that doesn't compute is bewildering.

Then the NFL needs to change their policy from six game suspension for a conviction to "Suspended until trial then six game if..."

i'm not sure what part of this people can't seem to grasp.

the exemption list is not a suspension. it's like being put in time out until you are given permission to come out of your corner and play with the rest of the kids out on the playground.

 

I do understand that.  I used the wrong word in suspended.  My point was the NFL needs to come out and change their policy because its not how it is currently written.  Instead it actually is, as in the Hardy case,  "Exemption and can not play indefinitely until trial, then....."

Only the commissioner can place a player on the exempt list and only the commissioner can remove that player from the list.

 

Hardy's trial date is irrelevant.  

 

Hardy is not coming back this year unless Goodall gets fired (or resigns - who needs the pressure when you have $44 million in the bank?) and a new commissioner looks into the facts of the case.

I don't undertake why he can't play after missing six games. They just passed the policy that said first suspension is 6 games

the comish list wasn't Hardy's punishment, it was Richardson and Goodell cowering to the media....and strongly suggesting to Hardy that he sign the paper that allows him to sit home and get paid,   since the players union would have been all up over Goodell and company if they took active action against Hardy.

 

So basically,  he is probably stuck on the Comish list until after his trial...and then,  if he is found guilty by the jury,  he will then get suspended his set amount of games.
