We SHOULD win the NFC South

philly will bury us IMO. they should be able to execute green bay's gameplan and put us out of it early.

our best shot is sweeping the weak teams in the NFCS, which gives us eight wins right there, and then maybe minnesota or the browns.

eeking out 9-6-1 should win it.

On the other hand, the Eagles made Kirk Cousins the toast of the NFL for a week.

Foles is a good QB, and no doubt we will actually have to tackle someone in space (gasp), but Foles is no Rodgers.

If this happens, will we really say we had back to back "winning" seasons. I mean, 8 wins means we only win half our games.

Yes that is clearly a winning season.

Why do you guys search for ways to be disappointed? Not just you, but about 50% of this board

Ha. Easy, dude. I'm just suggesting that a winning season occurs only when you win more games than you don't win. I think I'm right about that.

Edit: I've since used NFL rules to prove myself wrong (see below). +1 for teeray.

It looks like NFL rules back me up:

"Tie games count as one-half win and one-half loss for both clubs." So in terms of win-percentage, 8-7-1 is calculated as 8.5 wins and 8.5 losses, or .500. That is not a winning season.

That said, I'm an optimist and don't see why they can't turn it around and get a winning season. Go Panthers!

Ah, crap. Time for me to eat my crow and prove myself wrong.

According to NFL rules, we would have an 8.5-7.5 record. So that's a winning season, after all.

See, you shouldn't even have to look it up. Just be a homer, claim a winning season at 8-7-1 and tell everybody else to piss off if they say otherwise.

Being a homer is a good thing. Join the dark side!!! :)

we're gonna get smoked by some wildcard team in the playoffs though

why did I pie this?

0-1 in playoffs last year and the team was playing much better. This team right now is not playing like a playoff team.

even keel right now...one game at a time ...blah blah...

    • Another thread where the Huddle melts down over a Bryce comment.  "Conversations" and "Bryce Young has been signed to a new long-term contract" are still far away from being the gospel.  For a fanbase that has watched two top-3 drafted QBs come here, and us move on, only to see them elevate their play elsewhere, I find it comical. Bryce is flawed but this org is damned if you do and damned if you don't with BY9.  Why would our GM and HC say anything other than supportive about their QB1. Yes, he's extended, but I truly do not think if he goes out and has a repeat of the previous seasons, that he is here beyond 2027. They're giving him every opportunity and surrounding him with a ridiculous amount of assets on both sides of the ball. If he continues to pitch 110 yd/ game and cough up the ball while everyone else is busting their ass, no way Dan keeps him beyond the extension.
    • Ooof, I was not a Proctor fan. I agree w/ a lot of smarter folks than me that he's more of a guard and think his weight fluctuation is going to be something to navigate. I liked Lomu a lot, but figured there would be more talented guys there at 19. I also wasn't big on bringing in a TE via the draft. If it's not a vet (Njoku) or a trade for Mayer or Kmet, I'd just as soon see what the youngsters have. No need cluttering the room with more of the same.
    • Sam Darnold & Bryce Young are two very different Qbs ..just saying the last 25 years approximately 2/3 of ALL  first round Qb's  in the NFL were or are bust.so for everyone who makes it like a Sam Darnold you have two that don't make it or are a bust
