NFL in Los Angeles

I know the majority of you do not care for Los Angeles or football in Los Angeles, however for those that would like to stay in the loop, I am creating this thread for the sake of detailing the progress of a move back to Los Angeles.

While the return to LA has been decades in the making, I believe that their is finally some legs to the latest round of proposals and the LA market will get a team in the next 1-2 years.

Any team that moves to Los Angeles would temporarily play at the Rose Bowl or the Coliseum.

You can read the EIR for the Rose Bowl here

----

Updates:

October 20, 2014 - Mike Florio regards the Rams as the move likely to move to Los Angeles

October 21, 2014 - The NFL begins a market survey in Los Angeles to gauge interest

-----

If the Rams do move to Los Angeles, the most likely location will be in Hollywood Park in Inglewood next to the Great Western Forum

The second most likely scenario would be at Farmer's Field in downtown Los Angeles next to the Staples Center

The third possible site is Los Angeles Stadium in the outskirts of Los Angeles in the City of Industry:

Rumors:

- Dodgers Stadium moving to Downtown Los Angeles and moving Farmer's Field to Chavez Ravine (Not going to happen)

- A New stadium in Carson, CA next to the Stubhub Center (Not going to happen)

Oakland and their fans can stay where they are.

SoCal does not want the stinking Raiders.

First thing that has to happen for football to return to Los Angeles is an Owner to step up willing to build the first Pro Football stadium Los Angeles (Yes. LA has never had a Pro Football stadium) has ever had with his own money. California is overtaxed and overrun with Undocumented Aliens and their is simply zero tax dollars for football.

Until this happens it's essentially blackmail by the NFL to get a stadium built in another city currently housing a team with a sub par Stadium. So far this strategy has worked quite well.

I live right by the Rose Bowl.  I would prefer the Rams or Jaguars because Raider fans are really hard to be around personally.  Panthers will always be my team but it'd be nice to be able to go to a game without driving to SD.

The Thug gang mentality in LA that is Raider Nation in SoCal makes the Raiders unsavory to any corporate investment I would think.

Don't know if they still do it but the Raider fan and the fights etc was so bad when Oakland came to San Diego to play the Chargers they would not sell Raider game tickets as singles. You could only buy Raider tickets as a non Season Ticket holder if you bought a group of games.

Anything they could do to keep the Raider fan out of the stadium.

Most local Sports bars will not show Raider games here in Ventura as the problems with the fans out weighs the money Raider fan would spend in their establishments.

 It's that bad.

Virtually any other Franchise would thrive in LA with a proper stadium, although I would prefer expansion. I don't want any city losing their team.

I would like to make it into the stadium alive and out in one piece. I would like to bring my kids to a game. I would like to tailgate without having the bangers asking me where I'm from. I'll pass on the Raiders 200%

    • 100%. And these same people will claim you have an agenda. You can't have it every way. We had the lowest rated defense in the league last year. Statistically the worst ever. By PFF grades (for whatever that's worth- but they are readily accepted, used, and conveyed by most "reputable" sources), the defense was the worst ever. Not only that, PFF rated our receiving corp the worst in football last season. The absolute worst... out of 32 teams. Which is why regardless of the lip service Canales and Morgan paid to the current guys, they knew it would be criminal not to give Bryce more help. People fixating on team stats and not taking these things into context are stupid, plain and simple, and I'm for one thankful they're not running this team (or probably anything for that matter bc they obviously can't discern reality. Again, going back to the eyeball test these Narrative Nancies seem to hate so much, did they not see the windows Bryce was putting balls into? Have the generally not watched much NFL? Please, please show me the film where all these NFL QBs are making throws like this to this point Bryce was "below average" down the stretch compared to them. Bryce made more wow throws in that 3 game stretch of the Bucs, Chiefs, and Eagles than every other QB combined in all the years since since Cam got hurt I genuinely am baffled by people that can watch throws like that and act like it's nothing. I guarantee you Steve Spagnola, Todd Bowles, and and Vic Fangio didn't think it was nothing after watching the little guy torch them with players those teams would be embarrassed to trot out at the skill position players. The national media spent all year making excuses for Mahomes not having elite weapons when he had multiple 1st & 2nd round talents at the skill positions along with future HoFers in Kelce and Hopkins. Bryce wasn't throwing for 300 yards every week with David Moore and Adam Theilen in spite of jaw dropping throws and you want to say the guy played below average. For those people, again, we ain't watching the same sport. And the name calling doesn't change that... The vitriol and projection... it's off the effing charts with these people.
    • "Well you see if you remove this terrible game that terrible game this other terrible game and then focus on these games you'll see he's actually one of the better QB's in the league and he's actually as good as Jayden Daniels". My god this place is delusional. I love it.
