I had a thought back when they were talking about the 18 game schedule.  They seem hellbent on continuing to grow this London series.  What if they did away with two preseason weeks and went to a nineteen weeks, seventeen game schedule.  Every team has two byes and plays one neutral site game overseas, which would be followed by a bye.  Have the neutral site series run from weeks 2-17 so that nobody has a Week 19 bye and everybody opens the season stateside.  It would also not put teams that currently give up a home game at a competitive disadvantage.

 

I do not like these overseas games but this seems like a nice compromise where everybody gets something that they want.  If they played the games early like this it would be an extra plus and allow each network to add eight games to their slate, which means they make more money.
