@Mr. Scot - How long until you start preparing your Head Coach Candidate write-ups?

Most of you guys have been throwing dirt on Rivera's coffin for at least two years.

Everyone was crying for his head in 2012...

Everyone wanted him fired after game four last year...

Meanwhile, Rivera's players continue to play their balls off for the guy.

This team is going to be 7-4-1 rolling into the early December game at New Orleans.

Yea that Greenbay game totally looked like a team playing their balls off.

Most of the players loved Hurney too not sure why Panthers fan seem to have this idea that who the players like is of any importance at all...I bet a lot of people here don't like their boss or manager but like that paycheck.

Said last week I'm unsure how Gettleman will fell about firing staff.

He's got no issue with cutting players, but will he do what needs to be done staff-wise?

What criteria does he have for staff changes being necessary?

Lots of unanswered questions right now.

What is it about Bevell that you like...Seattles offense hasn't really been all that IMO.

He had a blood feud with the caustic GM at the time in San Diego AJ Smith.

Smith was the dick that ran Ladanian Thompson out of town and brought in Norv Turner.

Wait.......

Well yea that was pretty stupid and I see where you're going with this:

If the season really takes a nosedive, we should seriously consider Art Briles or Malzahn.  I'm ready for the college coach experiment.   Hell, make one of them a GM/HC offer they can't refuse if all goes to sh*t.

I'd be willing to give Malzahn a shot...the recent college to pro coaches have done pretty well and I think there are a few current college coaches that would work well in the NFL.

I'm not 100% convinced that Malzahn would work and that it would be risky but that's exactly the reason I'd go for it...too long has this team gone the "safe" and conservative route...I'd take a chance and shoot for the moon with GUs.

My short list looks something like:

Serious Candidates

Darrell Bevell

Brad Seely

Dave Toub

Retreads

Gary Kubiak

'What-The-Hell' Choices

Kyle Shanahan

Kevin Sumlin

Toub I could see more so than Seely, though Seely has history here.

Kubiak is one of those guys I think is a way better coordinator than head coach.

Don't want anyone named Shanahan.

I see zero possibility of anyone getting a full control type deal, and no way in hell such an offer would go to a college coach.

I'm not convinced the Panthers would even look to the college ranks for a head coach, much less a GM.

A fanbase not liking an OC is so common it's hard to take seriously.

Bevell is a very creative mind with a lot to like, primarily the job he's done with Russell Wilson.

I would absolutely love to see what he could do with Newton.

Add in he did a pretty solid job calling today's game.

I just want a coach who knows offense for a change. We're wasting Cam's potential I fear.

That's why I like Bevell.

It's well known that Jerry Richardson prefers defensive coaches, but Dave Gettleman is a big fan of Tom Coughlin, who's an offensive coach with two rings on his resume'.

The question is how much freedom Richardson will give Gettleman in the case of a head coaching search. As mentioned before, the release of Steve Smith suggests it could be a lot.
