2015 January Transfer Window- Rumors, wishlists, pipe dreams, and more!

Apparently Arsenal will try to sign 1-2 back-up defenders and that's it...  Arsenal is 3 points away from #3 spot in EPL and most ties and loses were mental errors and bad luck.  If Wenger can fix these issues, I don't see Arsenal losing many games.  Getting back Walcott, Ozil, Wilshere and Debuchy in January will be like buying new players :D

Well, we officially just signed Asensio.

He's talking about first-teamers and potential bench players. Asensio is remaining at Mallorca on loan until at least June. If I had to guess, he'll be there through next year as well. Unless he just fancies youth squad or b-side time.

This season? Yes. Next season? No. He'll be 19 in a few months. Both Jesé and Isco joined Real Madrid around the same age.

That's my point. You already have talented young guys to fill the rotational role. If he does not get loaned next year, he makes fewer than 10 appearances for the first team. Mostly in cup matches.

Well, every media source I've seen is saying that we'll be going through a major overhaul in the January window, now that Poch has had a chance to see what was on the squad. I'm not buying it, myself, though.

Who in the hell is going to take these bums off of our hands, even at a massive discount? More so, who thinks Levy will actually sell anyone at said discount? The guy is a tightwad, and has a long history of haggling over pennies with every single deal he makes, in or out the door.

Maybe, I can see in the Summer, but not in the Winter window. Too much overhaul would be flat out stupid.

Winter window is...

1). Last chance to sale a player before player becomes a free agent in summer

2). If team is struggling, add help

3). Player complains about playing minutes and wants to move

4). Team is willing to sale at discounted price

Summer transfer window is where you build a team for a season... Winter is when you patch the holes.  No one does major overhaul in January.

Exactly... which is why I think rags like The Daily Mirror are worse than the Enquirer. They throw crap at the wall and hope some of it sticks.

Arsenal and Real Madrid both interested in Lucas Silva.

Apparently Real Madrid wants him but unwilling to pay 12m pounds.  Arsenal said they'll pay.  All reports coming from Spain so I dunno.

Lucas Silva is 21 year old midfielder and one of the fast rising stars in brazilian soccer.  I'm not even sure if he'll be able to get a working permit if signed...

Winston Reid, one of the best defenders in England will move this January to Spurs, Liverpool, Manchester United or Arsenal.  It reported that Reid purchased an expensive appartment in London this month so it looks like he plans on staying in London.  Fingers crossed, hope he pickes Arsenal.  Arsenal D is the reason they struggle...

Silva's already said he wants to go to Madrid. He'll be there either in January or in the Summer.

    • did a great job getting us out of cap hell. also did nothing to make the team better once we had a roster good enough to compete for a super bowl for a hawwwg mawlie enthusiast using first round picks on shaq and vernon butler which were luxury picks while strutting out the likes of nate chandler, byron bell, matt kalil, mike remmers to protect your franchise QB was malpractice. and then of course the norman fiasco and drafting kelvin benjamin over davante adams, jarvis landry and allen robinson and doubling down on devin funchess the next year. for a guy that "came from scouting" it was crazy how he drafted 2 tall unpolished receivers simply because Cam "threw high" I remember him and Rivera thinking Byron Bell would be a better left tackle than right tackle because he was left handed lol
    • Beane took over in 2018 after Josh Allen was drafted. He's drafted 2 Pro Bowlers his entire tenure. James Cook and Dawson Knox The Bills had a generational QB fall into their lap and have wasted his prime much like we did with Cam. Alot of parallels and it's even funnier when they've had so many of our former players and built their front office around our old employees
    • News all over the interwebs this morning about the Hornets talking to the Knicks about trading for Karl Anthony Towns   https://www.sportingnews.com/us/nba/charlotte-hornets/news/hornets-have-engaged-trade-talks-karl-anthony-towns/36c895a74fd0b50c79902884
