I Remember JR running a tight lip franchise

I'm trying to figure out what has happened. During Fox era even during losing, there was no multiple "sources" come out of the organization. You couldn't get poo. When somebody spoke, it was when they was completely gone. This off season and how we did Smith was embarrassing. And now this organization is doing the same thing to Cam? Rumor on the Huddle during the early part of the year was JR is involved much more than many think. However, what happened to Steve and what's going on now I tend to believe it's the exact opposite. He's not doing poo but approving extensions

They destroyed in 2010 and rebuilt in 2011. Now they're destroying and rebuilding again? Can't support this poo

What happened is we have no sense of moderation in anything we do.

Let's look at this a moment: fans were unhappy with the complete lack of information we got from Fox and co, so one of Jerry's mandates to the Ron regime was to be completely open and loose with information. Kind of like how we draft a guy who goes on to commit a heinous act, so then we don't consider anyone with anything resembling trouble on his resume for a decade. We have a GM who is too free-wheeling with money and overpays home-grown players, we hire a GM who doesn't retain anybody and after one season contributed to the premature departure of two of our franchises greatest players ever (not convinced Gross retires this past offseason without that hardball restructure Gettleman forced him into). Bad luck drafting WRs in early rounds, don't take a WR earlier than round 3 for 6 years. Defensive line depleted bc of injuries and departures, 4 DTs selected in the first 3 rounds in the span of a few years.

The list can really go on. The point is, instead of finding the logical middle ground, we tend to overcompensate to the other extreme. It's pretty dang stupid.

Fox and Hurney didn't say anything.  Rivera and Gettleman talk more.  What is best?  When they don't say anything they are accused of being stoic and uncaring.  When they do they are accused on being overbearing and throwing folks under the bus.  You can't have it both ways people.

I agree with the moderation comments.

Pretty simple explanation really. Say I'm a reporter, right. Say I want to create drama with an organization that is struggling. Tracking so far? Good, next I write a column saying this or that, and that all my information comes from an un named source "within the organization" bingo, bango, bongo! I just created news out if thin air

    • No one way to do it, it does appear that with the bigger draft picks of the last 5 years…..majority haven’t steered clear of young QBs on the roster being their hopeful guy. Especially past their rookie seasons but even some the biggest ones have had it early.   As far as Andy Dalton, the two young guys he has “mentored”…..have had very rough NFL starts.  Which really ask the why the heck is Dalton here.   He doesn’t really check any box.  No young potential.  Can’t step in and win.  And his mentor track record with Fields and now Bryce is bad
    • I had thought the Panthers might let him play out his contract this year and hope he stays healthy. If not draft a left tackle and move Ekwonu to right tackle.
    • Frankly, if most teams in the NFL lose their starting QB for a significant amount of time, they're screwed. The fantasy is that one has a future Tony Romo or a Nick Foles that can carry a stacked team. The reality is that you might get roughly 3~5 games out of your backup before it all falls apart. Remember all of Peyton Manning's backups? Utterly terrible. Speaking of backup QB's, Raiders may need one. https://www.nfl.com/news/raiders-qb-aidan-o-connell-suffered-fractured-wrist-in-preseason-finale-expected-to-be-out-6-8-weeks
