2008 has nothing to do with your original statement but look, Carolina goes 11-5 (or better) in their history fewer times than the Patriots have gone to the Super Bowl during the same time period. 

Rivera got a Coach of the year for doing that and a 1st round Playoff failure at home in Carolina so yeah, that's a great job (by our standards).

 

Rivera went 12-4 and won the division. My point is I literally guarantee you no one would give him credit if that were 11-5 and 7th in the NFC.

What this commercial highlights is what sucks about this year.

 

Rivera is as likeable a guy as you can find.  You might hate the way he coaches, but you can't hate him.

 

I do however absolutely hate having to hope that a guy this nice loses his job.  Objectively speaking though, it'd be for the best,
