Any update on MKG?

Has anyone heard an update on MKG and his status or timetable for return?

Also, can anyone explain what exactly a stress reaction is and its severity?

It's a hairline fracture in a bone. Severity? Relatively minor but it can become severe if not properly treated. Just needs rest.

I'm sure you saw Kevin Ware's leg snap in half versus Duke. That's what happens when a stress fracture gives out. Same thing with Julius Randle. Scary thoughts because it's pretty easy to go undetected.

So, yeah, it's a pretty non-significant injury as long as you allow it proper time to heal. Otherwise it will keep getting worse until something breaks.

What causes it? No clue. I'm sure the excessive running and jumping on hardwood floors by oversized men has something to do with it. Bones aren't made to take that abuse.

Yeah, it sucks that MKG is out because of something so minor. But I'd rather him rest a few weeks and let it heal than potentially breaking his foot and missing months.

Preciate the detail. I really hate it for MKG as he had a lot to prove before the fall in NY and now this.

Sounds legit... do I know anything about it? No but I'll take your word for it.

Hope he gets right soon. We need to start stringing some wins together.

I don't know that much about it either. I just know that a stress reaction/fracture is a similar injury. Common sense says that you need time and rest to let it heal or you risk pushing the fracture to a literal breaking point.

Hopefully it isn't something that will linger. MKG gets hurt enough from his style of play without adding these types of things. It sucks because he looked like Scottie Pippen the first 3 games. He's still so young and full of upside.

Upside is one thing but to actually improve, as he has done, is something you have to love. He's a baller and I'm very glad he's on our team. You need to post more man. This forum could use a little more intelligent and positive discussion.

He's always had a relentless motor to match his ability and potential, which is why I loved the pick. Worst case you get a 15+ year SF who is a great defender. If he reaches his potential and continues to improve his offense he will be a All-Star.

I stay away for the most part. There's usually too much stupid in here.

    • I'm not a Bryce hater and I would 100% move on.  Especially looking at how the upcoming qb draft looks on paper.  Hopefully he continues to improve but if in 3 seasons you're still chasing average season numbers then he's not going to be the guy.  You've just got to keep taking swings until you hit.  Average qbs without any elite physical traits cant get it done anymore.  So this year Hopefully he continues to develop and is above average statistically.
    • Meltdowns???? He was pulled by Canales because he wasn't executing the game plan after 2 games into the season so he could watch Dalton execute the offense and show Bryce the windows available in the NFL, how to push the ball down the field and how to step up and move around when blitzed. When Young came back 5 games later he clearly watched and improved. Enough he was named the future starter. He doesn't have a history of  meltdowns nor is there any reason to assume he will have one. From what I have read he is mentally strong and emotional stable. He may have bad games down the road, everyone does. But this is all a learning experience for him and so far he seems to be making progress. I can understand being hesitant on anything Panthers, but Young has surprisingly been able to gain his confidence after a disastrous start. You aren't alone in being cautious but I think he is the future. I thought he was too small and too short to succeed in the NFL. Honestly I was pleasantly surprised last year and am optimistic about the offense for the first time since Wilks and Dalton were decent.
    • The Rams wanted to trade up for Williams who they ended up within the end. They even told him that when they called him to let him know he is the pick. The other teams are only an assumption. Like the Cowboys, who took a guard. The truth is the team wanted to trade down first and foremost but couldn't get an offer the were happy with. They took McMillan because they felt he was bpa at 8 plain and simple.
