With everything that's gone on this season, Panthers still control their destiny?

with our organization it is. if we win out and go to the playoffs Ron will not be fired and neither will Shula. We will get blown out in the first round. we've proven we don't have what it takes to contend. This ideal does not make me a bad fan it makes me a realist.

I agree that Gettlemen is a beast at the draft. He got us 2 first round quality talents at the 28th pick, along with a great guard prospect with Turner in the 3rd. With a top 5 pick he would get us potential 3 draft picks with first round quality.

Ill take that and a new coaching staff over winning over medicore teams to be the worst team in the playoffs

How do you know we'd get blown out? Realistically, we could be facing a Lions team we already beat, a Seahawks team we certainly should have beat, or the joke that is the Dallas Cowboys. We could even have a coming out of our shell moment against the Packers or 49ers who we both owe as well playing at home with nothing to lose.

Every game is it's own entity. No guarantee of a blowout.

I mean I'm not a psychic but the way this team has been playing, if the playoffs started this Sunday I'm pretty sure it would be ugly. i understand being a loyal fan but im a betting man. This team is on a severe losing streak and players no longer believe in the coaching staff. That's not something to bet on sir

Why the fug would anyone want the Panthers do go to the playoffs? They'd get blown the fug out AND Rivera would be back.

I always feel I should root for my team to win but in looking at the bigger picture I feel there will be more wins in the future with less wins now.

IDK, because I like to see my team do well?

The 2008 Cardinals entered the playoffs losing 4 of 6 including multiple woodshed beatdowns.

Do people really want to see this coaching staff back next year? That's exactly what will happen if we win out and make the playoffs. It would be giving us false hope because of our historically bad division and we would be right back in this situation next year. And there is no doubt in my mind that we would get blown out. The team is simply not good. Sometimes you have to go backwards to go forward.

THey should have won against the Falcons and if that happened, they would have controlled their destiny! Is it possible to still make the playoffs, yeah maybe a 5% chance but those are horrible odds! They blew it,the best they can do is try to win as many games as possible and see what happens but I don't expect a whole lot from this team and it's horrible coaches!

W/the Panthers shitty FO,even if they were to get blown out and look like crap for the rest of the season,it wouldn't surprise me if none of the coaches get fired,so don't get too giddy about losing!

    • Im not firm on many things football, but this statement or belief or strategy I am 100% for. Full Offseason the goal is to make the playoffs. Week 1, 1000% I want to win. Weeks 2-10,  1000% I want to win. Until the math stats 0.000000000% chance at NO playoffs, I want to win. *Once* there's no chance at the playoffs, I want to 100% lose every game until the end. You are still loser at 2-15 or 5-12, I want to never lose like this again. I want the best value for losing and suffering. Again the only goal is playoffs. Once in the playoffs anything can happen, I want to win the whole dam show. If you happen to lose in the first round, that's perfectly fine and lets work hard this upcoming off-season to get another chance to make them.  This is the ONLY way to play in the NFL. Anyone not understanding this method of strategy, please call your doctor for a visit...
    • Purdy's good but at the end of the day you're paying first class money for a business class seat.  It's a big problem with the salary cap.  QBs take most of it whether they are Pat Mahomes or not.
    • Purdy saved the 49ers from that three 1st picks for Trey Lance. People forget that. People also forget he should have MVP votes for the 23 season. He's been any where from the 8th(his best/23) to 14th ranked QB, he's legit and guys around top 10 get paid as QBs.....guys in 28th get paid too, he's 4x the QB Trevor Lawrence is and better than BY by miles as well...even without CMC, Samuel(whos a RB playing WE), and half the OL.    *BUT*    You non-believers missed this ultra important mistake that honestly made me reconsider all the praise I gave him. https://www.si.com/nfl/49ers/news/49ers-qb-brock-purdy-throws-blind-40-percent   That's is damming to my case and reset my thinking of his. That's nuclear scary now and I need some time.  too honest for me to overlook.
