Geminid Shower Tonight

If the sky is clear tonight, head outside to catch one of the best meteor showers of the year. The Geminids will be at their best on the night of Dec. 13 and the early morning of the 14th, peaking at around 2:00 a.m. local time. You can also watch the live show online from The Slooh Community Observatory starting on Saturday at 5:00 p.m. PST/8:00 p.m. EST.

Cool... I'll try to stay up for it. The skies are clear and now that I live out in the middle of nowhere there is very little ambient light.

Everything you can see will happen before midnight. That's when the moon comes out

I keep going outside occasionally, I've seen a few.

Yep, been staying outside for about 10 minutes and saw about 10 meteors. Saw 3 big ones and 7 smaller. Sometimes you get 2 meteors within 10 seconds and sometimes u get nothing for 3 minutes.

Just a note....do NOT drink a half a bottle of Evan Williams and go outside in the cold and stare straight up.....you might fall over backwards.

I went out several times between 9-11:30 and saw probably 6-7. Was very cool using Google sky...
