Four scenarios this weekend

And what each will mean for us going forward. Only 2 games matter next week. Browns at Panthers and Falcons at Saints. Here are the ways it could play out this weekend.

1. Panthers win and Falcons win. Best case scenario. Eliminates Saints. Winner of Panthers at Falcons in week 17 wins the NFC South.

2. Panthers win and Saints win. Falcons eliminated. Panthers would need to beat Falcons and Bucs would need to upset the Saints in Tampa for us to make the playoffs.

3. Panthers lose and Falcons win. All 3 teams still alive. Panthers could win the NFC South with the same week 17 results as scenario 2.

4. Panthers lose and Saints win. It's over for us.

1 is the only one that will happen imho. No way in hell that TB can beat NO

Not a scenario anyone wants but I wouldn't rule it out. NO is obviously not a great team, should have lost to TB the first time, and, much to their fans chagrin, TB hasn't and won't tank.

Sad part about it is if we both us and the saints win out we could be picking between 15 - 18th in the draft. So sad

18th isn't possible. Even a quick glance shows an 8 win team at 17, so we'd at a minimum be 16, likely closer to the 10 we already are. We have a 1.5 game cushion on the top 12 and the two teams .5 games "back" still have winnable games (MIN vs CHI and STL vs NYG).

Tampa will play for the #1 overall pick. I think the Saints will beat them. Our best chance is for the Saints to lose Sunday against the Falcons.

Hopefully doesn't come down to that but time will tell. I would hope for the #1 pick if I was a Bucs fan or outside of the coaching staff or 53 man roster. Inside of the locker room and on the field however I doubt that's the mindset. And this recent article is very gloomy regarding the Bucs draft outlook, http://tbo.com/sports/bucs/bucs-beat-its-never-too-early-to-talk-draft-20141213/

5.  The distant possibility of an ATL/NO or CAR/CLE tie. Or a week 17 tie between TB/NO or CAR/ATL brings a lot of alternatives into play.  Don't laugh, ties happen! :D

So Atlanta and Saints go at it.......division rivalry and a game that is essentially win or go home for the year......what is the chance that both teams beat the crap out of each other physically and emotionally in that game.............then the next week both Atlanta and Saints have less in the tank and both lose the last week?

Anyone think about that?

    • "I'm not stunned," Hansbrough said. "We talked about it at halftime, you asked me 'you have to be pretty happy.' And I said, 'No I've seen this story before.' I've seen this happen. They just had some lapses in games where they just go still offensively, defensively. Their competitiveness just drops a little bit. They never step on anybody's throat. When they have a team with a little bit of a lead, they never step on the throat. It's been something all year." The only disagreement I'd have with Hansbrough's assessment is that it's not limited to just this year. It's been Hubert's entire tenure. Hallmarks of Hubert's teams are: streaky shooting, streaky focus, running your starters into the dirt because you won't sub, and absolutely embarrassingly bad plays put of timeouts. It all points straight to the coach. When the roster keeps changing but the core fundamental issues keep recurring, it's not the players.
    • Leafs are broken. Out of the playoffs and Matthews done for the year.  It's either a very dangerous game against a team who doesn't give a fug and will leave it all on the ice, or a team who's thrown in the towel with an effort to match. And, yes, I'm sitting in the Miami Airport waiting on my next flight. Will be back in Lenovo both 28 & 29 for the b2b.
    • I’m guessing this counts as top 30 visit.
