post your ideas on nba trade machine here.  I say if the team continues to struggle we should shop Al.  He's a liability in many areas and there's a good chance he won't be here next year anyways. If the team doesn't improve soon and we're far off from the playoffs he needs to be shopped.  here's a trade i cam up with

with okc adding in a first and second.  perk and collison come off the books after this year so this trade gives us a good young player that works beside MKG, draft picks and cap room.

My knowledge of bball is weak compared to football please excuse my ignorance.

G. Henderson for Danny Green of the Spurs (would never happen, hell throw in a pick to make it realistic, bye bye Henderson)

M. Williams for C. Frye of the Magic (Frye is older and more costly but is more consistent in my book, will help in Vonleh's development)

These trades improve three point ability at the same time defense.

Potential lineups:

Al

Kemba

MKG

Green

Frye

Lance

Gary

Cody

Biz

PJ

Taylor should then be eased back into the lineups and Vonleh should be put into DL instead of wasting away on the bench imo.

Kemba wouldn't have the pressure placed upon him with a wingman like Frye and another good sharpshooter in Green that can hit threes. Al's life would be easier as well. MKG has improved and expect that he will even more as the season progresses. The potential lineup gives a solid offensive and defensive first team.

Next team will be a fun team. Lance will be running the second team because his strength in lies creating for others. PJ and Gary will be the sharpshooters and nothing else due to their weak defense. Cody and Biz for the board cleaning/defensive presence. This team will provide a good follow up from the first team.

I want the team philosophy change into a pass happy system similar to the Spurs. Vonleh will be future star, please be patient with this WIP. Biz is slowly becoming a more efficient shooter and when Al is gone, he can be the man (yes I have faith in the dude). This team would have way more potential if utilized correctly and the FO went after the right pieces!

After serious thought and consideration, Lance is best used off the bench and is being used improperly (as much as rest of the team as a whole in general). Marvin Williams bye, lacks defense and has been anemic offensively. Henderson Henderson Henderson, you are average son, weak spotty shooter, with overrated defense because of your athleticism blinds fans. The new team would not be perfect but my god it would be better.

    • I originally hated the Miller deal but with the cap projected to rise nearly $10M next season the Canes struck some pretty good deals between Miller and Ehlers. Most of the team is locked in for the next few years. Nikishin will need an extension probably in the $6M AAV range. And Blake will need one if we don’t move him. Personally I’d move Blake, picks, and any prospect not named Nikishin/Nadeau/Artamonov for McTavish as I don’t see any any of the big time players moving teams next year. Realistically the Hurricanes should just target Gustavsson next year to fix the goal tending issue. But I’m all for moving Blake, picks, and prospects for McTavish this year. Ehlers - Aho - Jarvis Svechnikov - McTavish - Stankoven Martinook - Staal - Carrier Hall - Kotkaniemi - Robinson Jost - Jankowski Slavin - Miller Nikishin - Chatfield Gostisbehere - Walker Reilly Andersen Kochetkov I’d do Blake, Felix-Unger-Sorum, and 27 2nd for McTavish.
    • Very true on the length but stuff like this is never where we shine. We aren’t a good team at drafting.
    • Homerism aside, the more I see from Dan, the more impressed I am.  His player evaluation instincts. Last year his 2 premier FA signings, Hunt and Lewis COMPLETELY changed the line and I have a feeling his success in choosing blue chip guys will continue.  Look at the panthers’s rep for FA signings in the past. By and large, it’s been guys 1 year past their prime who had an injury and suckered our GM in to a crippling contract. We never get nice things. When was the last time this team signed 2 young blue chip studs  in the same offseason to contracts worthy of their impact? Ever?  Im telling y’all, players respect and trust Morgan.
