Turns out I have been anointed with the task of revamping the baby's new room and have been handed full permission to do a Carolina Panthers color theme. Were talking bare drywall, paint, insignia, the whole caboodle (don't get to use that word much). A complete new canvas.

I just received this monumental information mere moments ago. No Steelers, Cowboys, Washington crap in my family! He will be indoctrinated.

The catch? I get to pay for it, and I will gladly do so. I have thirty days. Help me meet this challenge.

So, I turn to you my fellow huddlers. Where to start? With a quick cursory search I see that home depot seems to carry the Carolina blue and black which will be the main color theme, my sister did insist on that, which I have no problem with.

My initial budget will be an investment of $500 to start. I would like to hear your ideas, and any experiences on this matter, lay them on me and help me spend my money.

Black walls are too much. I'd suggest the bottom half in the silver/gray with a 6" band of black separating it from the blue top half. Or use a chair rail around the wall at a 39" height from the floor painted in black; gray on bottom and blue on top.

Salvage yard- pick up a couple of gym lockers and paint them as well, maybe throw some numbers and names of players on 'em.

Amazon and eBay have all kinds of inexpensive wall stuff, framed and otherwise.

    • He makes a good point about Wallace.  In fairness to Wallace it is hard to play your position as freely as you need to when your defensive line is getting pushed around like ragdolls.  One of the greatest attributes a defensive line has is sucking up blocks, freeing up your linebackers.  Our defensive line couldn't suck up a lollipop more or less blocks.  I think Evans, Sanders and Tremble are going to be a really nice TE group.  I can see all three getting time on the field.  If Sanders can improve as a blocker teams won't be so inclined to believe it is a pass play whenever Sanders is on the field.  Ryan Fitzgerald, I think was an awesome pick-up. Hopefully he can fill our kicker void. Luke Kandra many turn out to be our next Norwell.  Everything I have heard about him says he's a beast.  He needs some refinement, but the good news is he's got Hunt and Lewis (arguably the best guard tandem in the league) to learn from.
    • Great teams build through the draft and have several young players that start that are on rookie contracts. It's important to hit on players in rounds 4 thru 7.  These should be future starters and solid depth.  When you hit on most of your picks you free up a lot of cap space for those one- or two-year players to fill spots you are thin at. No GM is going to perfect on all their picks.  You're going to whiff every once in a while.  That was Hurney problem.  He'd nail the first pick but after that it was reach after reach and we couldn't get any depth on this team. I'm excited about Morgan as our GM and hopefully he'll be around a long time.  It will be even better if Canales can continue to grow as a head coach, both in the development of young players and play calling. I remember last season after Young came back in the lineup and started to perform well.  We saw different plays I had only seen other teams use.   If Canales's play design and play calling continue to grow. Morgan and Canales will be linked together for a long time.  It would be nice to see a Coach and GM together for a decade or two. Go Panthers
    • They also came out for the encore and the singers were dressed in canes jerseys. Pretty fuging cool.
