Who still wants Rivera fired...

Still don't know how to feel about rivera, the minute you've seen enough and proclaim he doesn't have it, the light bulb in his head goes on and he starts making the right decisions, and the team starts playing better.

In any case I think the continuous playoff experience is good for our players and coaches. If the Panthers win this next game, I'll consider this progress over last season.

2011: Started 2-8, finished 4-2 to make season 6-10

2012: Started 2-8, finished 5-1 to end season at 7-9

2013: Started 0-2 and rumors about him being fired if he lost to the Giants began, went 12-2 and won division.

2014: Started 3-8-1, including 6 blow-outs, finished 4-0 and won a terrible division.

I'm not advocating it, but this is Rivera's yearly sctick and I'm getting tired of it. Obviously, him being let go isn't going to happen, but another year and I hope that is it (if this happens again).

Shula needs to go, no matter what though.

Now isn't really the time for this discussion. I love Rivera as a defensive mind but he has not yet endeared himself to me with competent coaching. But looking around the league which coaches truly are safe?

Tomlin? Belichick? Carroll? I can't think of many.

IF we can get a competent game manager and some solid offense I'm fine with Rivera.

    • Trade up for a project was dumb, he's gonna be 25 next month. By the time you're deciding on whether he's worth the 5th year option or a big contract you're already gonna be thinking about moving on soon either way.
    • I mean this is legit AF statement....you don't spend that draft capital on a project just like you don't trade up for an injured RB either, which was done in the same draft.  That draft IMO was a necessary evil for DM to learn from his mistakes (I think he did but some may not). Also I have to mention I'm a big Coker fan and think getting him as an UDFA was obv a steal.  Coker is the better WR2 at this point as Legette and its not even debatable unfortunately.  Give him year 3 but don't expect much from him.  Continue in the offseason with adding as much talent and competition on the roster as possible including WR.  Or just trade his ass for peanuts and continue to build roster by any means.......
    • Losing him was a huge loss. Look at how the Bears went from a 5 win team to now a 11 win team. The Lions offensive line is bad this year, secondary is bad and Campbell going for it on 4th down all the time has cost them games instead of taking the Field Goals. Goff is inconsistent as well.
