Ealy came on but people still think we need to draft or sign a FA DE this year..

If we had gotten Bryant or Robinson our WR corp would be set for years.... KB, Byrant or Robinson, Philly, Bersin and a Vet would be a incredible group for Cam to grow with..

You also didn't name an offensive tackle, which makes me believe that your original comment was made with no one specific in mind.. You probably looked those receivers up just now.

You named the OT I wanted in Moses. Which he didn't have a good year in Washington but no one did..

But I find it funny you say name a player you wanted. I did and here comes the excuses. When they would have been good option.

Here is the problem with people who have the balls (not brains, intentionally) but balls to criticize what Dave Gettlemen has NOT done:

 

They fail to consider how much each move would have cost.

They fail to consider actual players who were available when a move was not made--they refer to positions and not players.

They fail to reflect and see how wrong they were in the past.  I agree that admitting mistaken opinions is admirable, but when the opinions were not based on fact or the "real world", the admission is rather pointless.

They fail to realize what we did that could not have been done had we done what they suggested we do. (Just read it again slower--it makes sense)

 

Yes, we could have drafted Morgan Moses instead of Kony Ealy.  Yes, we could have drafted 2 rookie WRs and not had a starting RG.  Yes, we let a free agent LT slip through our fingertips because we did not offer him $9m per season.  The same LOT who was benched in our last game at Tampa Bay.  The reason this team struggled early?  Our defense lost too many players from the secondary and had to be figured out.  Our QB did not have the chance to develop chemistry with his new WRs (If we kept the others, it would cost us $13million this season and we would not have gotten better).  We lost Hardy, Alexander, Mitchell, Munnerlyn, and Blackburn off last season's defense.,  Then we lost Benwikere and Boston to injury, hindering their development.  Gross retired.  To cap it off, the schedule early on was a bear.

 

And people blamed Gettlemen for what he did not do.

I agree that we need another young WR to put out there to compete for the no. 1 job, but just because you want it, doesn't mean that's what you are going to get.

 

 

If Ealy was higher on DG's draft board, and our DE's were scheduled to make 28 million this year, I feel perfectly comfortable with the pick.

 

One (Hardy) of our DE's will be gone in the off season, and the other (CJ) will probably be gone next season.

There is also a chance that we could have a defensive line that could be a force for years.. Why ignore that?  That seems more valuable to me.

Look up draft needs for this team on most sites..

But again as a fan I can have my own opinion. . Imo this was a great draft to get WR'S. And I would have liked to grab 2 instead of Ealy in the 2nd. . Again that's my opinion. Ealy has been solid and a good pick but I would have still taken 2 Wr's in the best WR draft in Decades and had weapons for Cam secured.
