Kelvin Benjamin sad after ATL Postgame

This is just my observation but it seems to me that when he's being guarded closely or otherwise attempting a difficult catch he focuses more on the catch itself. When he's open for an easy catch I think half of his mind and eyes are upfield looking to see where he wants to go next before the ball is secured.

Kind of like how a golfer might look to see where the ball goes at the end of his swing instead of keeping his head down, which affects his shot.

It takes a certain amount of refined skill and coordination to have good hands. Not everyone can just go out there develop good hands this late in their career. Sort of similar to ball-handling and shooting in basketball.

This isn't no sure easy thing KB can fix. Sure he can improve no doubt, but its also possible he never really fixes his dropsie problem.

Eh, ball handling is extremely easy to pick up and can be done over one intense summer, so can shooting as it is just repetition. Many players have become much better shooters later in their careers because they had to.

I was disappointed with the drops in Atlanta, but we threw him into the fire after we cleared out our entire WR core.

You can't be mad at a rookie putting up over 1,000 yards and 9 touchdowns.

We brought in Cotchery to be the veteran guy to take some pressure off of KB, but he has one touchdown this year.

Let's also not forget that KB is adjusting to the length of an NFL season, he's been starting and going up against #1 CB's all season.

Cam just needs to stay in his ear, and build him up. Benjamin has the talent and desire

The hard catches require complete concentration on catching the ball.  The easy catches are different because it is easy for your mind to go to the next phase--getting hit, running after the catch.  There are also people who catch the ball better over the right shoulder than the left, above their heads better than around their knees.  We practiced catching passes while getting hit with dummies.  I was not good over my left shoulder, so I ran about 10 routes a practice from the offensive right side.  I was also slow to bring the ball in when at my knees, so they made me practice that with the jugs machine every day..  Since KB routinely makes the tough catches, it is pretty safe to assume it is a concentration issue instead of hands.  However, I will defer to the experts on here.  They know enough to dismiss people who spent years working on hands.

I take a person who drops the easy passes and require them in all practice drills and scrimmage to look the ball into their hands until they see the grain of the leather or stitch of the laces and literally yell out either "lace" or "leather" then they are allowed to take their eyes off the ball for anticipating what they do next.

If they miss one time where they don't yell it out...they are required after practice (no joke here) to write on the play board 'I will look the ball into my hands until I see lace or leather before I turn my head".........20 to 50 times........

One week of that and I never had one of my players ever drop sure catches again...........the told me they actually hear it in their mind during the game when they make an easy catch....it also reduces fumbling if they get hit soon after too..
