Essay DeAngelo Wrote on the Plane

I think the players deserve the money more than the owners to be honest. The money made is like 100 to 1. The owners haul compared to the players.

WRONG.......

According to the CBA, the players and clubs divide up three main revenue sources. So, for example, the Green Bay Packers $187.7 million in 2013 revenue compares to an NFL salary cap of $123 million in 2013. The "player cost amount" for each team includes the NFL salary cap as well as the amount of money that is allocated for player benefits. A player "benefit" includes pension funding, group insurance programs, worker's compensation, as well as certain per diems and medical costs.

The players receive:

55 percent of league media, which includes all broadcasting revenue—television, satellite, radio and Internet.

45 percent of NFL Ventures and the NFL postseason revenues—including all revenue from the operation of postseason NFL games, as well as revenues arising from the operation of NFL-affiliated entities, such as NFL Mobile, NFL.com, NFL Productions and the television channel NFL Network.

40 percent of local revenue—which consists of "all revenue received or to be received by the clubs or club affiliates and not included in League Media or NFL Ventures and Postseason revenue."

FF has ruined football. Player fans and not fans of a team anymore.

Also Lynch getting fined 100k for not talking to the media while Suh gets to play in a playoff game after doing something he has done before says all you need to know about the NFL.

as it gets worse and it will get worse, almost makes me wonder if I want to be a fan of pro football anymore.

lol what other people do should not impact you wanting to watch the game, that's ludicrous. The only thing that fantasy ever negatively did to me was when they started actually having "Fantasy SHOWS."

I finally picked up in Fantasy this year for basketball and I will say it has made me a ton more knowledgeable about the sport.  I don't have time and access to ESPN like I used to so it keeps me on my feet about stats/performances.

I agree with DeAngelo and I remember being shocked at the miscreant who made the post about him fumbling his daughter.  That pissed me off and it had no place to get personal like that.  Many folks take their comments too far relating the games to his personal life. I think it is extremely trusting and generous that he is willing to share so much of his personal life on social networks, but unfortunate there are always trolls who have to be asshats and spoil it for others.

Yes, I'm not sure what me reading the article would have to do with anything. I'm referring to the fact that you would want to stop being a fan of the sport due to others stupidity.

Totally understand when athletes crusade against traditional media. Totally don’t understand who in the media did what to DeAngelo Williams.

I don't think DeAngelo was going after the media for anything they "did" to him. It seemed to me he was taking up for his fellow players.

Social media is a good thing if a player, or nonplayer, takes a  a  common sense approach when using it. The problem is that players being human, all to often don't take that approach and that's why the league steps in to avoid their image from being tarnished. Not to hard to understand.

The only thing wrong with this argument is that you're treating both"the owner" and "the players" as if they are only two people rather than, in most cases, one guy and 53 guys.
