I think I need to see it again with some sort of hallucinogen, because this movie really made no sense to me. Like the line from Beeltejuice, "It's like reading it in stereo." and I was definitely missing something...or maybe the movie just sucked.

I've been looking forward to this movie, but based on the reviews it seems a lot of people either loved it or hated it.

I enjoyed it personally, but it definitely isn't going to be for everyone. I can see why it got some of the viewer reviews that I saw.

 

Just a few tidbits:

 

It's pretty long, right around 2 and 1/2 hours, and at some points it began to lag, but would pick back up.

 

If you do not like a lot of dialogue in a film, and need some action, this will not be for you, at all. But it definitely had it's funny moments.

 

Overall it's a pretty random film, and IMO the performances by Joaquin Phoenix and Josh Brolin make it worth at least one viewing.

Looking forward to this one. I like quirky films (Men Who Stare At Goats, Burn After Reading etc.) The trailer made me think that it was that kind of take on a Noir style story.
