Julius Peppers

Don't really care. He's not Steve where he gave this org all that he had and got pushed out the door. He gave a few great years of his prime and then split. He had his chance in CHI, don't care about anything after that.  Would rather see the Packers or Broncos win than anyone else though...but Peppers has 0 to do with that.

He was coming here until the Packers offered him a stand up outside spot.

Imagine an alternate universe where we grabbed him and let Hardy walk.

That MNF quote seems to be hard to interpret. Some wonder if he meant literally just coming to visit NC (where his roots are) or actually about to sign.

Even then, that's hypothetical and questionable. I just know how he lef,t and it gave me a bad image of him lol

Collinsworth's emphasis when he said coming to Carolina made it seem like he meant to play in my opinion, but I don't blame you for feeling that way. I am a Peppers fan even if he did bail. I am kind of a quiet guy like him, I think that is why I always had a soft spot for him.

Peppers is a huge piece for other teams to scheme for and plan.

Glad he is still playing at such a high level, that strip on Murray was huge for them.. he is in shape and playing in the coldest place to play in the NFL, its hard to question if he wants to play football. Sure looks like it.

Happy for him, people seem to forget how beastly he was at Carolina. I have a friend who says "oh if he played for carolina he must be good"

uh.... Peppers was a huge part of the defense here. He was the OG Watt, he caught TD passes... he blocked on goal line. Dude is awesome!

i always root for peppers and fox to win when the Panthers are out. Steve Smith on the other hand, couldn't have cheered harder for the Patriots yesterday.

see I know Steve talked his trash. But he gave so much more than those guys. He talked the way he did after leaving because if the way he left. It was clear he still wanted to be here it honestly was like being a bitter ex that wants to still be with the person that dumped you

I'm sorry, he could not have handled it worse than the way he did. He repeatedly took shots at this organization, Gettleman, Rivera, and his behind the scene comments on Cam. Making comments like its refreshing to be with an organization who expects to win. Screw him. This is the same organization who stuck with him when he wasn't even good yet and punched a teammate as a rookie. Also the same organization who stuck with him after he cracked Ken Lucas. I am not a fan of Jerry Richardson, but JR has always been good to Steve Smith. And who is Steve Smith to possibly come out and say that Dave Gettleman is not a man? Is Steve Smith the best Panther in the history of the franchise? Without a doubt. Do I hope he loses every single game he plays for the rest of his career? Absolutely. I will remember the good times and cheer him on again when he gets his number retired.

    • It's definitely a historical issue at QB but to be perfectly blunt, we also don't do a good job of really developing almost any position if you look at the last decade or so. I tend to be on the side of that being far less a development issue than an evaluation deficiency.  I think we are in the situation at QB2/3 recently due to the overall roster being absolutely abhorrent and the QB classes being quite thin. It is harder to justify another Matt Corral(or several) when you can potentially get a real two deep contributor at other positions.  But, it was a lot of hard work to get to the point where are roster is so incredibly bad that luxury picks literally are not in our vocabulary.  This is the reaping what you sow portion of our history.
    • That is what I meant about our front office. They are like someone filling out a March Madness bracket based on preference of uniform colors and mascots. There's no rhyme of reason to some of these fugg'n mind numbing decisions they make.  They go all in on these flimsy-@ss prospects and are gun shy when it comes to more solid prospects.  It's literally maddening and the reason I stopped being so emotionally involved in this team. Heck the only reason I'm active on the board today is one, it's my day off and two, it's cut down time.
