If Cam threw 4 interceptions in a game...

We sucked terribly. We were downright awful at times.

We had no chance at a Super Bowl.

Yet we were still better than you (again). Only difference is we have about 20 crucial players still playing under rookie contracts and you guys are getting worse by default with age

As did we.

Not really here to dick measure about a 7-9 team. We sucked. The constant doom and gloom about the Saints demise is kind of old though. They had a bad year. It's to be seen how they bounce back.

Why would you not go all in during the last few years of a potential Hall of Fame QBs career? That makes no sense. You blow it up when Brees hangs it up. You don't trade the best QB in franchise history.

Whether the Super Bowl was a "fluke" or not, I'm more than happy with them chasing the ghost. Them having one of the top winning percentages in football over the last half decade kind of point to something other than a fluke though.

I see you take pride in promoting your past success. That's good...Fond memories of the past probably lessen the sting of your more recent struggles. While you're strolling down memory lane, longing for the good old days.....We've won back to back NFC South Titles so kneel before your reigning champion and kiss the fugging ring.

I don't take pride in promoting anything. The Lombardi was 5 years ago. I didn't bring it up. I was responding to him calling it a fluke.

You don't have a ring. You've got some pretty fancy shirts though. So you've got that going for you.

I find this entire discussion, back and forth funny.

Cause many here are either trolling, or totally benign the effect of having a great RB, defense and play callers (calling plays to your strengths) do for a QB.

That is a tremendous luxury for Wilson. Quite frankly, he doesn't carry the stress of having to carry the offense, or even win the game for them. Do you know how much of a big difference that makes, regarding making mistakes?

Remember, when Wilson first came into the league? He was literally spoon fed the offense through a pacifier. Not that they opened it up much more now (just a little bit). They haven't. However, when Cam came into the league throwing bombs, standing tall in the pocket, Wilson was "managed" in the highest way, totally playing off the defense an running game.

Cam has never had that luxury (either the defense was bad; the running game has always been inconsistent; or both), and has carried that burden, and has been a more traditional QB then Wilson ever has.

Put Wilson on the Panthers, Cam's rookie year, and I think he would have been benched.

Ding ding ding! I

Care to give me the MegaMillions numbers, man from the future?

I always like to have meaning behind my numbers so go with

9 - for the number of the guy holding your franchise back

10- for the number of losses Saints will have next year

'17 - for the year you will finally be out of cap hell

1 - for the amount of paper bags you will need to wear at home games

4 - for the place you will finish in the NFCS next season

Moneyball - 3  for the number of the QB jersey all the Saints bandwagon fans will buy for as they leave and join the 12th man

So try 9-10-17-1-4   3

    • No, when I said rage, I meant rage, which only applies to certain fans on this board. Your timeline of trying to assess whether he is the future or not is really tied to the discussions surrounding his second contract. If this team is going to commit to some monster contract while he has shown nothing but glimpses of brilliance would be deservedly worrisome, so the clock is genuinely ticking for him to settle into something resembling his final form. Perhaps a best case scenario is that he plays well, the team succeeds, but he does so with a more limited role that makes the rest of the league view him as a game manager, and his second contract value reflects that. Then he continues to improve and becomes a bargain comparatively while not handicapping the team around him, and we enter an era of consistent championship competitiveness that the fanbase has craved for decades and has never really experienced before. But that requires many, many things to go right and for Bryce himself to facilitate that if he ends up being the quarterback of the future.
    • Exactly. And the flame throwers as well, get location benefits from not going all out. But they have it in reserve.  Not sure how much Greg had but he was an artist.  There was a YouTube I came across last year or maybe even 2023 and I don’t how to even find now but it had two NFL QBs I want say one was Carr from the Raiders but I don’t really remember  The point of it is they stood side by side throwing identical distances to identical targets. Radar gun was used.  They threw the normal effort (not all out) and it was measured etc. Then they were asked to throw their ‘fastball’. They were missing and most often they were missing high. It demonstrated the same principle.    edit: and applying that to arm strength, give me the guy that doesn’t need max effort to have good velocity. The margins are so narrow with less velocity in tne NFL the defenders can Close on it and this is a league where they value down to the 100th of a second level. It is that tight
    • There's a reason Greg Maddux was never a flamethrower but still one of the most feared pitchers of all time, because accuracy beats velocity far more often then vice versa. Once you exceed a certain minimum capability, you can thrive with extreme traits elsewhere, its not strictly about power in any sport but powerlifting.
