Vic Beasley

Couple things. Lathon was gone by the time Davis got here. Also, Davis started his rookie year out at safety. He got torched in coverage and was moved to the bench to be used in a "joker" role for the rest of the year. It was only after his rookie year that they decided that he should be moved to OLB because in the offseason he asked Mark Fields' permission to switch from 47 to 58 (Fields' old number that was thought to be semi-retired because of the Keep Pounding campaign).

Davis was always a good spy on the QB (we drafted him to stop Michael Vick, and it worked) which gave him the illusion of being ok in coverage. In reality, he was just faster than the guys he was in the box against. On an island, he gets exposed. Nothing wrong with that at LB.

did we run a 3-4 back then?

this is a pretty weak Draft. there are a few standouts but so far it's pretty easy to see who the best 10 or 15 players are and then there's a drop off the ledge.

I guess we have to hope that one of the true OT falls to us that can start from day one. I just don't have any hope that there's a stud safety or DB that is worth a first rounder.

I also can't agree with drafting a #2 WR in the first round.

I'm pretty disappointed. because of how terrible the NFCS was this past year, they are gonna get the impact players, even though we were only separated from most of them by a single win.

Beasley played with his hand down, standing up, rushing inside, rushing outside, dabbled in coverage. He was a playmaker. Playmakers with his tool set don't last until the end of round 1.

Beasley also disappeared a fair amount and feasted against some weak talent

and he I stick by the fact he hasn't shown pre draft the ability to be the type 3-4 OLB Von Miller did while in college.

Beasley does have talent. Not arguing that. Arguing how it will fit. I think teams that run a 4-3 won't have him near as high as a 3-4 and those 3-4 teams are going to use him in an unproven way

teams quit challenging his side of the field a lot too. I agree he may have mailed it in a bit, but like I said earlier, he was draft ready as a sophomore.

Bc of his athleticism he is one of the best pure pass rushers to come out of Clemson in some time. I'd only put him around 3rd in the last 10 years as an overall DE out of Clemson. He struggles getting of blocks against good talent and isn't special against the run.

I wouldnt say he was draft ready as a sophomore. His overall game wasn't that good. Just the sexy speed move

he's better suited as an OLB that can blitz, imo.
