Getting a girl to like football

Who the fug even dates someone not interested in sports? That simple fact should have been made known during the discovery stage. 

 

 

I would...I think that is an overrated thing. My GF likes football but honestly I couldn't care less if I dated someone who didn't as long as she realizes that sports is important to me and doesn't mind when I take time out of my week to enjoy them. 

 

Same thing with golfing and fishing. I like to do both but prefer that it is something I do with my buddies or even by myself. Gives me time for me and gives her time to do the things she likes to do with her friends.

I'll teach her. A lot of girls learn to love it by watching girl friends who love football. I'm crazy enough that they all usually are thoroughly entertained, regardless.

Third option is she will accept and give you some leeway during the season (college and pro). My wife doesn't get football but accepts it.

Well, you didn't mention that she was Russian! Is there another sport that she enjoys watching that you don't know much about? It might help if you try to learn that sport while you show her football.

I'm actually trying that approach this upcoming season. I'll let you know if if works.

But I've kinda resolved myself to the fact that my Russian fiance is never going to embrace American Football. And I've also kinda decided that's not the worst thing in the world. What's wrong with having an excuse for guy-time? All I have to say is, "I'm watching the game this afternoon," and all of a sudden her tone shifts from, "You're leaving me alone all day?" to, "Oh, fug that, go watch it at the bar with your friends."

Make it more of a social experience than just a game to watch. Invite friends over. Go out. Make sure she has girl friends to talk to.
