I love BP... great poster, but I think the hornets colored lens influenced those wins and losses projections... I wouldn't worry about us rocketing up to 7th because I just don't see it from this team. We're far too inconsistent. I just watched parts of the Nets and Heat game last night and we are not better than them.

The addition of Whiteside and Dragic for the Heat and Thad Young for the Nets WERE HUGE. They look like different teams. Out addition of MO was, standing on its own, better than any move at the deadline, imo, considering what we gave up. But the reason their moves were better was because their teams were already better constructed than ours. The guys they picked up were the only piece their puzzles were missing, while MO was one of many in ours.

It's going to be a struggle, but I only see 8th or the lottery, and I'm leaning heavily towards it being the lottery.

The Nets and Heat aren't good either. We're a bad team, but we definitely have a chance at being better than both of them.

In my puzzle metaphor, I didn't mean to make it sound as though their additions were the only thing they needed to be a contender. I meant the guys they added were the only pieces they needed to secure themselves at playoff bound teams. We on the other hand, have far too many issues outside of MO.

And maybe I just caught them on a good night, but I'm telling you omega, they aren't bad like we are, and at the very least, they are better than we are.

I would love to be wrong, but I see them more than likely pulling away from us.

I watch the Nets and Heat a fair amount, and they are just as inconsistent as we are imo.

The Heat have been getting hype all year about being a sneaky good team, they got Whiteside and he's been the steal of the last few years. But they're still sitting well below .500 and are losing games they shouldn't on paper.

The Nets are paying Johnson, Williams, and Lopez about 55 million this year. No team setup like that will be decent. They are better since they acquired Thad, but I'm still, not worried about them.

I honestly worry more about Indy than either of those teams. They're well coached and George will probably come back fairly soon.

    • Basically agree.  He is the one of that bunch that offers upgraded pass catching along with he is supposed to be kind of special.   Then you have the OL and the ideas that if they perform you can have JAG backs and still do well. So okay we could be fine.  But Brooks is important and to me that receiving element sets him apart.  So there sure is something riding on him.     What strikes me as incongruent is people over in Atlanta or those that follow them look at Penix with a third surgery and act like it is no big deal.      And we are on pins and needles over Brooks.  Either they should worry a lot more or we should worry a lot less.
    • I usually go a game or two optimist over the consensus here but this is too early for me to say. I need to see some players on the field.  I am not feeling real optimistic though.
    • Okay as a ‘take CJ’ fan I actually don’t obsess over CJ and Houston, contrary to the narrative.  But I thought I picked up some noise that his OL left a lot to be desired.    Not a single Beyce supporter would judge him harshly if he had a crappy OL. We all know that.    So be fair about it.  A QB needs to be protected.  Especially a guy that gets to his spot and wants to finish the play from there. Which CJ is.
