Jacoby Jones signs with Chargers

Jones will be 31 in July and really is only a specials team guy. Why pay a premium for a guy whose career high as a receiver was 50 reception s for 562 yards and that was In 2010. I,would, rather have a receiver who can return kicks and punts than a returner who can catch a few balls. If all we need is a returner we can get Dwayne Harris for cheap.

Have you considered that he is going to play hardball with the Panthers because he feels a certain amount of disrespect for not getting what he thought that he should have the first time around?

I can easily see him balking at what he considers a low ball offer this time. You know, money at many times is equated to appreciation, or lack thereof.

Plenty of teams balk at NE and SEA. Still does not mean they don't get the job done. If Ginn wants money let him chase it somewhere else. He's not the only player that can return.

Jones is good. No need to start taking down on him just because he didn't sign with us. We definitely could have used him

He is good at ST. Let's be real Ginn is more of a WR than Jones and that's not saying much. I would take Torry Smith over both and he will only cost a few mill more.

I don't agree with that.  I think Jones is a much better receiver than Ginn.  JMO.

I won't cry myself to sleep over it I know other options are available.  No biggie.

No argument here. I have said that we should raise our expectations and move beyond Ginn. All that I would prefer him to do is return, except for maybe an occasional four receiver set. Ginn is a convenient Band-Aid in my eyes.

    • After last season, it was the same question. And the answer most people came to was "If he doesn't make the playoffs, he's gone." He made the playoffs. No matter how it was done, we made it to the playoffs. He's safe. He's going to have a chance to keep working this out, even if next season isn't a playoff one.  I think we'll do better next year than we did this season. There's something being built here.
    • The NBA is a very fickle league. Kon is one of the hottest rookies in years and beyond just his play on the court he is a very steady competitor and that translates to the rest of the team. That has been a glaring absence with the culture of this franchise through the bulk of the LaMelo Ball years that's just being completely blunt and realistic. The enigma of LaMelo Ball is he is entering year 6 and still either red hot or ice cold. We need him to find that sweet spot. Logic dictates the Hornets will want to see this core again next year. But the clock is beyond ticking at this point. It's put up or shut up. Especially considering what the Thunder managed to do recently. I'm hopeful they can keep these wins rolling in and get some much needed playoff experience under their belts which will help substantially.
    • I think as long as the Panthers are competitive with Canales they should keep him. Pepper needs to repair his/the teams image as a place prized free agents aren't hesitant to consider. Just dont do any crazy poo for a few years.
