Got a chromecast and have problems

Apparently to do the intial set up with the chromecast you need to do it with a smartphone  or tablet or wireless laptop. None of which I have.   I have a wi fi router installed - hardwired to my desktop pc.   The pc has no wireless capability as far as I know.  Is there a way to make my pc wireless capable ?

Yeah if you don't want those problems return your chrome cast and get a roku or Apple tv

Unfortunetly if your PC does not have WiFi capabilities you may be out of luck.

Now there is external wifi adapter you could buy and it may work

I can remember when the only telephone service my family had was a party line  ( youll probably have to look that up ),  a black and whilte tv that we only received 3 channels on, and we only had a couple of am radio stations close enough to pick up during daylight hours - fm radio may have been invented but we didnt have an fm radio.

I think that will be the simplest route to go.  I was looking forward to being able to stream anything I can get on my computer to the tv though and apparently with the roku you are limited with what you can stream.

Plex allows you to stream from PC to TV

What kind of content are you trying to stream? Roku or Apple TV will work with almost every major streaming app (Netflix, Hulu, Watch ESPN, etc). But as mentioned above, if you don't have WiFi capabilities, you may be out of options.

Unless you want to watch Game of Thrones then you have to buy a stupid Apple TV
