Shakeup within the organization: Mark and Jon Richardson resign

Did he say "to sped more time with my family"? Because 99% of the time that's a complete BS reason people use to cover for something else.

I think it was Scott Fowler speculating that. Jon is a jeans type of guy. Mark is a suit and tie type. Jon's been battling cancer on and off for 10 years. Might be watching his old man's problems, figures he has enough money, and wants to spend the rest of his life with his family. Knowing Jon, I believe it.

From another board....Jon was leaving for lifestyle reasons...wanted out of the daily grind, and Mark is leaving because....

Inheritance formalities...nothing more...Big Cat could go anytime now so they want Mark to not be an employee so he can take over as majority Owner when his Pop dies. You should know better, frankly.

If this were true, then why wouldn't the Panthers have a press conference to explain it? They didn't think anyone would be concerned about both of the owners sons resigning on the same day with less than 2 weeks before kickoff?

Panthers need a new PR manager...

As a PR manager, I know that the executives don't always listen to our advice.

Jerry Richardson does his own thing. When they didn't re-up Rosinski's contract, it was his call that the Panthers wouldn't say anything about it. Mick Mixon wrote an awesome story about Jon (overcoming his health battles) one time for the website. It never saw the light of day. Big Cat again. I have a terrible feeling JR has been given a finite time to live and is doing all of this his way.

guys, don't read into this

this is a smoke screen, similar to the recent news that the cia torture scandal will be investigated, which takes the focus off of health care reform.

in similar fashion, putting that we signed a DT and that there is a shakeup in the organization in the news is taking concetration off the fact that we paid 100mil dollars combined to jake delhomme and chris gamble in the off season and both players are looking like they may lose their starting positions. also it distracts from the teams terrible defense.

    • What I love and hate about this team is it’s more filled with potential breakout players than ever before. JT, XL, Coker, Smith-Wade, Ikem, Trevin… and even Bryce are all guys I could legitimately see taking the next step. But the problem with having so many of those guys is that team success somewhat relies on them taking that step, and some are bound not to. That being said, I’m cautiously optimistic given our softer schedule, the way the offense clicked late last year, and the direction we finally have at GM, coach, and QB. Could see us as a sneaky playoff team.
    • Me, signing up for FanDuel Network, and then canceling FanDuel Network:
    • Smith-Wade for me. He has the path to some decent hefty snaps in Evero’s scheme. He held his own last year and improved as he continued to get snaps— If he makes some strides, could be a very capable nickel.  I agree with Sanders. Bryce had some trust in him that final Falcons game post crazy head-stand.  Bryce looked for him a lot that final game and made some critical catches to get us the W. Seems he’s put in major work so I’m hopeful about him.  Wallace will have an offseason under his belt. I like him a lot, was higher graded than most remember in his draft (I.e Brugler had him LB3/70 overall) but he isn’t as cerebral of an LB as we’re used to. I think he could thrive if we get D captain/film-junky type next to him— because right now that’s Jewell.  Still a bit cautious but love the talent. Rozeboom may snag some playing time from him if he’s still working out the kinks.
