Well that's weird. Are the Hawks phonies? How can my lowly Nets be all tied up?

Deron Williams finally decided to play like he makes $20+ million per. I feel like the Hawks would've won the championship if they played like they did on that ridiculous streak, but they've been very mediocre since then. They'll lose to the Nets if they don't get their poo together, the Nets played bad defense last night and still won.

They've been phonies all year. I would have liked the chances of a healthy Charlotte squad against them and we suck.

It's disingenuous to say a 60 win team that won like 19 or whatever in a row has been phony all season. They had a remarkable stretch, it just looks like they've fallen back to what they were supposed to be.

And where they're supposed to be is a talent level comparable to the middle to lower end of the East.

Never underestimate the fact that the Hawks have to put "Atlanta" in front of their name.

Atlanta and Toronto like to play a finesse style of basketball that can get easily exposed in the playoffs by the defense-first, slow-it-down teams.

Nets are a very talented team. They're just just idiots with a tryhard coach.

If guys like D-Will, JJ, Lopez, Jack, Young, Bojan, Plumee, Anderson etc. all play up to their potential they are a very dangerous team.

That's a pretty good roster, don't let the record fool you. All of those guys except for D-Will or Plumee have played great in the series.

Not to mention that our bigs are hurt and we have a lot of players in their first major playoff series.

The media and casual NBA fans really love to ignore all that

Not worried in the slightest. WAS will be outed by us in 4-5 games, we're a terrible match-up for them.

Lol what. Nets are not a defensive team. We're shooting something like 34-37% on uncontested shots in this series. That's nothing they're doing.

    • I’m really having a hard time understanding how this actually went down. -Renfrow expected to make roster as 2nd/3rd string. -Panthers cut Renfrow; Keep Brycen Tremayne, and add UDFA receiver (Dalevon Campbell) to active roster.  -Canales/Morgan say it’s totally up to Hunter whether he wants to come back or not, they would love to have him.    -Renfrow not signed to PS -Panthers trade Adam Thielen -Hunter Renfrow signed to active roster with a raise after an injury to Coker nobody heard about and is likely to start.    Our WR room is now: -Xavier Legette (2024 1st round pick) -Tet McMillan (2025 1st round pick) -Hunter Renfrow (1 year out of the league) -David Moore (Canales’ friend? A guy way past his prime) -Jimmy Horn (Likely a Shi Smith reprint, but has potential 2025 6th round pick, weighs 174 lbs) -Brycen Tremayne (2023 UDFA who was on Washington’s PS for 2 years and caught 1 pass for -2 yards and averaged 300 yards per year at Stanford) -Dalevon Campbell (2025 UDFA had a good preseason but had 1463 yards and 3 TDs over 5 college seasons at 3 different schools). What the hell is going on?
    • Not uncommon for week 1 games. Especially against good defenses. It’s why I prefer my team play these small schools week 1 if they are going to play them. Gives the offense time to get calibrated.
