49er player suggests Harbaugh might be 'clinically insane'

Fixed.

His sample size in the NFL is still too small to definitively judge. That's especially true when you factor in the amount of player dissent he generated.

A lot of folks question whether Harbaugh could have had sustained success in the NFL. In that sense, he's been compared to Jon Gruden (i.e. won early with a ready made roster and went downhill from there).

I'm going with not tough enough. Harbaugh was right about them trying to get better after all they never won a super bowl and even if they did you always can get better. Boone says we got over the mountain but they never won a super bowl and with the year the 49ers had last season I see why Harbaugh was trying to push them to play better.

i have always believed that he is the type motivator that i could put into any organization, regardless of industry, and make a quick and dynamic turnaround in a short amount of time. i don't care about his football accumen. you surround him with people/coaches/managers who know their poo and he can get them to the top quickly.

one of the things that i liked was that his pedal was floored all of the time in every game. he just didn't let up and that's what i wanted and still want from rivera.

what i didn't take into consideration was the fact that apparently that pedal is stuck. i didn't take into consideration the long term effects of his personality and drive on people.

i would still hire him, but i would so it for a short 2-3 year term and then bring in someone who could maintain rather than constantly push people to the extreme for years and years.

Great analogy.

He is like that consultant you bring in as a turnaround specialist. They are seldom liked and are never the guy you want to run the company for the long term.

How can Boone possibly say "hey, we got over the mountain, we made it"? They didn't win poo with Harbaugh anymore than we did with John Fox. Wow, a Super Bowl appearance. Super duper bro. That and a buck will get you a cup of coffee.

Maybe Harbaugh wanted to push them hard because they were on the brink of greatness and the players felt like they had arrived and didn't want to put in the time and work anymore? I'd say that theory holds water because when Harbaugh was a lame duck and knew he wouldn't be extended, he probably let off the gas being he wouldn't be around and wouldn't you know it, the team fell off significantly.

The Niners are a joke, and will be for some time which makes me happy.
