Patriots accused of cheating (redux)

Funny how all these teams have shared the same experience at Foxboro...

one thing that their defenders do that bugs me is the rationalization of what they do.

 

"they were blowing the other team out so what they did to cheat didn't matter."

"it wasn't technically cheating so....."

"other teams have done this i'm sure"

"other teams have cheated at one point or another"

 

the reality is that the patriots have a culture that says win at all costs, which if done ethically and within the rules is ok. but that's not what the pats do. they are legitmately one of the best run teams in the league and have the perfect system for tom brady, but they go to lengths to try and ensure wins by taking actions off the field which puts things in their favor, like videoing other teams practices, deflating balls, and messing with opposing team's communications.

 

with other teams these might be isolated events, but with the pats, it's pretty much to be expected.

 

i think the biggest thing that gets me, though, is the number of pat nuthuggers that call themselves panther fans. i just don't understand that one.

The Raiders used to embrace the role of dirty-playing punks in the 70's with the whole just win baby thing. I don't know why the Patriots don't just embrace what they do.

The truth is that none of this matters. Everyone knows for certain that the Pats are cheaters now.

 

The only type of person that will justify them as actual legit champions are those that justify cheating because "Everyone does it". Thats how it starts.
