Should The Clippers Move On From Chris Paul?

I dont know... i have always appreciated his ability, but i think he's starting to develop a reputation for his lack of ability to "take control" of his team and will them to a win. In all honesty, aside from that one year in new orleans that he took over in the playoffs, i have thought he is vastly overrated.

What do you think?

Yeah, im not saying i wouldn't want CP3 here, lol... but i think for what they expect of him, it just won't work.

And then, in all honesty, i think they played some of their best basketball this round when cp3 was out with his injury. I think to a degree, he holds Blake back from being the player he can be. And it just feels like this is their ceiling with him.

As a fan of that 07-08 Hornets team I can't stop laughing that he's never been on a better team than that. I so enjoyed watching him get his ass kicked today. He forced his way off that team to go to one of the worst franchises in the history of the NBA. It's so wonderful to see.

Paul is a phenomenal PG. He's gonna be a Hall of Famer. There hasn't been a better pure PG in the NBA over the last 20 years. Only exception is possibly Tony Parker, but he has Duncan and Popovich- an all-time top 10 player and top 5 HC.

Here's the thing though, outside of Magic Johnson and Oscar Robertson there isn't really a PG that has led his team to a championship as the best player. And Magic was surrounded by HOFers and Robertson is probably a top 5 all-time player.

PGs just don't win championships. History has shown if your PG is one of your top 2, or even 3, players you aren't winning a title.

Not to mention Paul has never had a great team around him. Blake Griffin is vastly overrated. Everyone else on that team are just role players.

And I don't even like Paul. But he's a great player, and the only elite pure PG in the game today. Curry, Rose, Westbrook, Lillard, Harden, etc aren't PGs and guys like Wall, Irving, Walker, are average.

Paul and Parker are the last elite traditional PGs left.

Oh waht coulda been for CP3, traded to the Lakers until the asshat Commish overruled it.

Now just more underachieving.

Chris is a great PG, and in a playoff setting, he can put a team on his back maybe for a game or two. He can't put the team on his back for a whole series, though. Especially not this late in his career. Funny, his best shot at a ring came while he was with Hornets. That clippers team ceiling will always be the second round.

Isiah (best PG of all time) led his team to 2 championships. Only one of the top 10 teams in NBA History to have just 1 player in the top 50 (as voted in 1996 50th anniversary).

    • Another layer to that is Ive seen Seattle has been in the market for CB help this off-season.   Michael had a higher PFF grade than Horn who got 15 games this season. He wants to be here too, that's a huge bonus for any 5 win team that had awful pass rush.  The 7th rounder Michael Barrett didn't last long on Seattle, he was cut before the season I think and ended up on browns PS. He's already been on 5.......5 teams within one year.......
    • You have gave the board some recent gold via posting. Heres my poor attempt at the truthful play-by-play of the time during post- I pulled out the old laptop to do my shitposting and check on websites. Open the huddle and see this new thread. Open thread and read CRAs post, {inner thinking, oooOOooo this is my lane and I got this}. Make sure not to scroll even to the 2nd post. 23% of current neurons still firing start up and two names appear- Captain and Josh....... about another 43 seconds past "O GOD" it's July 4th weekend and I got medicine to pick up. (If the laptop didn't give away my aging, the meds should...) I need to split, think long panther careers and the hint-  Ryan Kalil was a late 2nd and Pro bowls(even all-pros too) he's got to be OLman and Mikie Minter is among the all-time Panthers career leaders. Drop my post. Scramble to get keys, wallet, and phone. Check my phone- its 17% battery.....fug I now have to raw dog the pickup line and put the phone on charge.... Flip flops, sweat ringed filled hat, and shades acquired. Get in my pos rav4 and think about not running the A/C. Pull out the drive way and reach the 1st stop light, A/C is wide open. I check my shirt to see if there's any new stains on my house shirt, bush off the Bojangles salt that I see.... Neurons re-fire and focus on the comments CRA made that no one would get this....... Dang IT, that means it isn't Ryan Kalil or Mike Minter! CVS is close, but I know its impossible I get back withing 10 minutes to change my post and my phone is on the charger. {Think you monkey, at one point you were a draft nerd}. Reach the CVS line, by some grace its not 5 cars deep during 5 o'clock traffic hell. Im second in line after the car in front of me both turn in, they have to go back and forth to line up while Im a pro for that geometry. Neurons finally reach peak performance as Ive re-thought draft classes. Think obscure and unknown 7th rounders with long careers. Some Sunday/Monday night member berry fell out of my Melon, Will montgomery during the players intros for washington. I thought he out of the league and was shocked to see him still playing around the 2015 years. I do a goggle background check and that refreshed memory. Pick up the meds and enjoy the sweet smelling cool CVS air. Driving back and check in on one of the local bums at the big stop light, wow he's got a new fancy rug. Think about all the old food I got and need to start giving it away and rethink it. Reach home and post a follow up and I know Minter is wrong too, I check the draft history and see Robert Mcclain. Too late, but that would have been my guess....open CRAs link and get "upset" at the DBs name.
    • THANKS my guy! Keeping up with this threads theme, if I view a thread and there's only 20 posts and some time passes. If I see there's one new post and read the name; @Dave Gettleman's Shortsis among the chosen few that I will reopen that thread just to see what you posted.    Thanks again, plus not just a scout, thats scotty mccloughans son?!?!? If not for the deep claws of booze, scotty is among the best talent finders this league has recently had. Last I heard he ran a consulting business. Caden could be one of those who's on a early path to being a GM in the future. I was a big fan of his dad, dam shame about booze demon ruining his career.
