Mo Williams wants back in Cleveland??

Rumor is there is mutual interest from Mo and from the powers that be in Cleveland to reunite Mo and LBJ.

Their roster has nothing that I want except for the players we all know they are not giving up. They also have no draft picks since they traded everything away to get Love and Mosgov. I only see a way where we use a third team to make it work. Boston and/or Denver might help facilitate something

oh my god, so we just flipped Neal's expiring for Mo's expiring and Troy Daniels?

wtf..

Do you remember the end of the Gary Neal Era or did you block it from memory?

Daniels is an expiring this year and he's playing for peanuts. Could push PJ for time behind Henderson.

Cho won that deal going away even if injuries did the team in.

For just a brief period of time before fatigue got the better of the elder Mo Williams, we saw good PG play in Charlotte.  Such a nice thing to witness, even if it was fleeting. 

We also saw it from Kemba before he hurt his knee and got rushed back in a desperate move to make the playoffs. You even said it yourself!

Maybe, but because of the timing of the injury, we will never know. 

What both Mo and Kemba showed was that in order to be successful they had to put the team on their back and outside of a freak of nature like LeBron no other player can shoulder that much responsibility for an extended period of time.

I'll admit, Kemba is frustrating, and I'd be lying if I said I didn't love the prospect of trading up using kemba for a Russell or Mudiay, but a change in point guard wouldn't fix any current problems.

With Al Jefferson at 50%, the team has literally no go-to scoring option. MKG can't shoot, Henderson is just now learning how to shoot a corner 3, Al can't pass out of double teams, Marvin is Marvin Williams. That leaves Kemba, who isn't a jump shooter, running around trying to make something happen late in the shot clock.

The problem I have always had with the anti-Kemba crowd is that they put all the blame on Kemba without acknowledging the rest of the roster. He was a starter on an up and coming playoff team that exceeded expectations. So what happened? One of his best floor spacers, CDR, isn't re-signed and the secondary ball handler that helped bring it all together in McBob wasn't re-signed either. They were replaced with Lance Stephenson and Marvin Williams.

To me, that looks more like the team failing Kemba than Kemba failing the team.

I sensed this not long after the season ended...   He loved LeBron while he was in Cleveland.   It wasn't because of a rumor or anything, it was actually because he was posting pictures of his old house (that is no longer his)  in Cleveland and I was thinking, "why are you in Cleveland?"

McBob was the primary ballhandler for that team.  

 

Kemba doesn't have a good supporting cast.  I'll admit that and frankly there is no denying it.  But he makes a ton of boneheaded plays and gets torched often on defense.  I just don't see him as good starting material.  And he certainly isn't worth 12 mil a year.  

 

Most importantly, I think a PG makes those around him better and progress in their game.  Kemba hasn't shown me the ability to make others around him improve at all.  I think the Hornets will never amount to more than about a 40 win team by having Kemba as the starting PG and having 12 mil a year tied up on him.

      Yep. I was hoping for and calling for a day three guy. But I didn’t research the position to say if we should or should‘t have jumped at a particular guy at a particular spot.    And everything I read said it was a poor draft for RBs depth wise. I guess when Seattle takes a backup RB in the 1st, that kind of backs that up.    I definitely think we should keep 4 running backs and if King can play well enough then keep him too.    I believe I heard Canales say we are a running team (talking about drafting a WR he will be needing to block as well as catch). Well if we are gonna be a running team by identity we don’t need to stock the WR room to overflowing. If one room has to sacrifice, it should not be the RB room given our circumstances.

      If there's a pattern I'm definitely picking up from Dan and company is a philosophy of making trades where we try not to sacrifice the number of draft picks we have by day's end. In other words, we're not giving up three picks for one, or giving up a future pick to make a pick today. And even if we give up something at the start, we make trades later to make up for that initial loss. Here's how it stacked up for 2026: How we started: 19, 51, 83, 119, 158, 159, 200 How we ended: 19, 49, 83, 129, 144, 151, 227 (no future picks sacrificed) Ultimately, we moved up two spots in the second to ensure we got someone we coveted, gave up a few spots for our fourth round pick, but then had better picks in the 5th (and got really good value out of them), and had a worse 7th rounder which isn't that big of a loss anyways.  At this point, we can question who they draft, but they're pretty good maneuvering across the draft board.
