Regular season tailgating is here!!!! This season we are starting off with a bang by having Dan Morgan's new restaurant, Cheese Mo'z (www.cheesemoz.com), sponsor and cater our tailgate. While the final menu is still being worked on, there will definitely be plenty of pizza, pasta, and salad for everyone who shows up. Cheese Mo'z uses coal fired ovens to cook their pizza and we hope everyone can show up to try some of this great food. At this time Dan is planning on coming out and tailgating with us for awhile.

Cheese Mo'z (www.cheesemoz.com) is located at The Village at Robinson Farm, 8410 Rea Rd. Suite 100, and their number is 704-544-5255. We thank them and Dan for their generosity and please be sure to stop by and have lunch or dinner one day. Because of our sponsors like Cheese Mo'z, we are able to give 100% of the donations received to Toys for Tots. To date we have raised over $15,000 and given over 500 new bikes to the toy drive at the end of the season to the Marine Corps Reserve.

Here's the rest of the details:

1. Where? Our Free Huddle Tailgate is at a parking lot that borders Church St, Poplar, and 3rd St. downtown. The lot is right across the street from Picassos's downtown. Specifically in that lot our tailgate is closest to the corner of Poplar and 3rd. right on the sidewalk. We have 3 tents and lots of Carolinahuddle.com banners to help you locate us. We are RIGHT beside the lower entrance to this lot.

2. When? This week we will start at 7 AM.

3. What will be there? Lots. We have plenty of tents for cover from sun or rain. We provide for free all the food and free drinks included: Cokes, Diet cokes, Sundrops, Diet Sundrops, and waters. There will also be plenty of music and good people. There will also be a limited breakfast menu available from Bojangles.

4. How much? If you park in that lot it's $30. You DO NOT HAVE TO PARK THERE TO PARTY WITH US! There are many lots a few blocks back that are MUCH cheaper, even down to $5. Take advantage of that or take the train into town for a few bucks. To tailgate please donate as much as you can til it hurts. Please be generous and consider how convenient our tailgate makes things for you and how much you save vs. going into the game and buying all this or trying to do it yourself.

5. Who is there? Most of the people there are people on this website and their friends and family. All of us were new at one time or another. Please don't be shy if you've never been here before. We make friends easily. We give our food and non-alcoholic drinks away for free to ALL.

6. Is this tailgate kid friendly? We do not police adult behavior before football games. We do not take responsibility for what kids may see or hear during the tailgate. Generally most adults mind their manners around them, but you never know what they may be exposed to during their time there so use your own judgment.

Most important please bring your own drinks if you want alcohol. The Official Huddle Tailgate does not in any fashion provide alcohol as part of its tailgate. We do not accept responsibility for anyone's actions as a result of what they consume at a tailgate.

Anyone confirm whether Morgan is coming to the tailgate. I was going to ask him Thurs night when I was at Cheese Moz, but he did not show (was supposed to be there). I was in tonight with the family and asked his head bartender Rex. He said he was unsure, but it would not surprise him if he did. He did say that Dan was impressed with our tie in with Toys For Tots.

      I really enjoyed it. Well put together recap of the season that showed the emotion of the ups and downs this season. Brought back a lot of painful and joyful memories. This was a strange season to say the least. I threw in the towel at least 2 maybe 3 times this year. Yet I was still relatively proud of the team and the fans by season ending. Hoping we can continue to build on this!

      To be honest, I didn't read or hear of any decent goalies who may have been available. Sure, there was an article suggesting Florida may offer Bob, but look what happened- they're actually talking about a new contract for the UFA net-minder.  On the other hand, here's how someone else categorized the crickets chirping from the Canes: https://www.thescore.com/nhl/news/3481704/winners-and-losers-from-2026-nhl-trade-deadline The Hurricanes were in excellent position to make a splash but did nothing other than add some toughness to their fourth line in Nicolas Deslauriers. That's awfully disappointing for the Eastern Conference club, which entered the deadline with four first-round picks over the next three years, a strong farm system, and more cap space than any other contender. While Carolina doesn't have any glaring holes, upgrading the second-line center spot should've been a priority. Can it win a Cup with 5-foot-8 sophomore Logan Stankoven in that role? He's likely better suited to play wing. Adding a goalie would've helped, too, given Brandon Bussi's inexperience and Frederik Andersen's struggles. A depth defenseman wouldn't have hurt either. The Hurricanes have a pretty straightforward path to another Eastern Conference Final, considering how weak the rest of the Metropolitan Division is. But nobody should be surprised if they're once again outmatched by whoever emerges from the superior Atlantic Division, in part because of the inaction by GM Eric Tulsky. --------------------------------------- Exactly what a few of the astute regulars on this board have hypothesized, I might add. And if a handful of fans can see this.... well....
