Barclays Premier League- 2015/16 Season Thread

how does he still have a job

I think if Walcott and Giroud do not click soon it's almost guaranteed Wenger will buy a striker in January.

Wenger had too munch faith in Walcott and even rewarded him with a huge new contract this summer... But Walcott is struggling hitting the target.

Arsenal had the best attack in EPL over the last 5 games but it doesn't matter if you can't score.

loooool

you gotta be clear when you comment right after me bitching about Wenger.

I think this is a make or break season for Brandon Rodgers.  Last year it was injury bug and rebuilding year... This year is a make or break.  He brought some good talent in and actually has a decent team but it might take few games for them to gel.  The big issue...  Liverpool defense was a suspect last year and it's still is now...  He needs to fix defensive issues.

hahah my bad dude.  But make or break season?  It was leaked that FSG was EXTREMELY close to firing him at least once LAST season.  This Liverpool team looks absolutely anemic right now, they can't score at all they have three goals in five games.  And two of them were just freakish wonder goals and the other was when a player was offsides.  He's playing guys out of position and the team has no identity.  They are very very mind numbingly terrible.  He's on his last life, has to be.  Like if he doesn't get all 3 against Norwich this weekend I'm not sure he'll survive another week.

Liverpool has 2nd worst conversion rate in EPL...  Go figure.

Todays News:  Wilshere is done for 2015 and won't return until 2016...  Liverpool's Henderson is in the U.S...  Apparently English doctors cannot find the cause of his injury and in last ditch attempt they will use US doctor (I assume NFL Dr. Andrews) to figured out what is wrong with Henderson.

Giroud looks like a complete trash...  Missing another tap-in and getting a red card for arguing with ref.  Wenger seat is getting hot.  Can't believe Wenger was dumb enough to put his Arsenal career on the line for Giroud.

he will score 3 on some midtable team and Wenger will use that to justify starting him against top 5 teams. pretty sure he has something like 1 goal in 10+ games vs top 5 sides versus like 20 or so versus mid-to-low table teams.

Absolutely true.  He is nonexistent against top competition.  The only goal he scored against top team last year was against Liverpool on 90th minute when Liverpool was already 3-1 down.

    • After some of the calls last year probably won't see much of a drop off
    • https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/48344034/nfl-begin-hiring-replacement-officials-given-state-negotiations-nfl-referees-association   Honestly fug these refs and their union. Resisting changes that would actually incentivize good performance and not seniority based systems. What a bunch of donkeys. Hope the replacements straight up take their jobs and never give them back. Sick of watching refs script games with no repercussions.
    • Donovan seems like highest risk to me. Lloyd and May have already established relationships with all these kids. There’s probably guys hitting the portal that they recruited from HS. And then there’s the possibility of transferring their own guys from their current teams. They’ve also been recruiting the HS kids for like the next 5 years already. Look at the Iowa coach who hit the ground running by transferring all his guys from his D2 program. Or going across sports to Cignetti transferring all his JMU guys year one then building off that to a national title year 2. Donovan is starting from square one having been in the NBA so long and he’s already 60. So you’re potentially punting year 1 for a guy you are just hoping to be a 10 year hire while you figure out how to actually develop your next home grown 20yr guy. That’s 1/10th of the time you have him, more or less at best. The hope would be that he would find some high level assistants who have been working the college recruiting trails already, but then are you giving up his ideal staff just to get a foothold in recruiting and transfers. Think Belichick year one was bad? Imagine how much worse it would be without Steve Belichicks transfer portal pulls. Hoping Mays or Lloyd are all they’re cracked up to be.
